Presented in partnership with the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, the expert panel featured at this year's Daniel Burnham Forum on Big Ideas looked at land value capture as a tool for municipal infrastructure finance. They covered what land value capture is and how states and localities leverage select land value capture instruments, and they provided examples of effective use of land value capture tools.
The panel highlights emerging policies with an eye to providing strategies and success stories that will assist local leaders who are considering similar techniques. The forum shares innovations - and the pragmatic nuts and bolts needed to make them happen - by emphasizing state and local policy changes that are enabling effective approaches to land value capture.
Speakers include Anthony Flint of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy; Julie Kim, PhD, of Stanford University Global Projects Center; Gerald Korngold of New York Law School; and Michael D. Alexander, AICP, of the Atlanta Regional Planning Commission.
