Across the world, urban populations are growing and consuming the earth's resources at rapid, unsustainable rates. The challenge now is to create new, smarter ways to live for a more sustainable future.
WGV at White Gum Valley is an innovative residential development which is responding to this challenge. An Innovation through Demonstration project, WGV will demonstrate the very best in modern, resource-efficient design to create a sustainable community that enables residents to contribute to a healthier environment.
The precinct will feature cutting edge water and energy-saving initiatives. The two hectare project will soon be home to more than 150 people living in a diverse range of affordable housing including apartments, townhouses, maisonettes and single homes.
To encourage others to live more sustainable lives, we will share building innovations, tips and lessons learned throughout the project online - making WGV the State's first open source, sustainable community.
WGV is Western Australia's first residential project to achieve national recognition through global sustainability initiative, One Planet Living.
