Could listen to the purr of a lazy 8 all day 😋 Love the natives but sorry I reckon Pine trees (when not planted for harvest) are nothing but an invasive weed
@Phil-oj5nr Your not far wrong there mate, pine trees do nothing for the NZ scenery, even pastoral land is easier on the eye than pines, but they do earn the country a lot of money and provide employment for many. The Desert itself isn't unattractive and has many moods, shame about the cyclone Gabrielle damage in the first southbound sister tho, be a few years before that is no longer an eyesore ... as regards the SH5 Taupo-Napier, what a complete and utter farce, hopefully the nats honour their pledge as they are claiming that all previous limits are being re-instated, unfortunately they are also talking July next year, why, why can't it start being rectified now ... even better, up the limit from Taupo thru to the Rangitaiki Tavern to 120kph, then drop it back to 100kph ... The 80kph thru the Waipunga Gorge was never needed any way as the average steerer doesn't appear to be capable of going any faster than 80 thru there anyway lol
Could be described as one of the most boring drives in NZ. Same could be said for the last 50 kms of SH5 into Taupo, long boring straights and billions of pine trees!
