Matt - food for thought - next year wrap your sled and Jerry's the same, this way you can take the broken parts off your sled and swap it with his & ask him WTF he did - LOL

Like so many, another great vid Matt. I'm impressed with how quickly the snow bike gets through the terrain. I could be wrong but I think his bike is geared just a little too high for those snow conditions. I say that because it sounds like he's laboring the four stroke before it begins to enter the optimum power-band. Just my thoughts. P.S. It all looks like so much fun: )

Your running board rivets are the victim of the awesome tree banging you do. It is by far the largest shock load you put on them and it is peak force, not total force over time (work) that does the real damage. So your landing something even from high up, the load is spread out over the suspension and your legs and your back, Lots of force, but a broad curve. Banging into a tree the total suspension is how much the bark compresses under the side of the running board, so it is a very high spike of load. That is likely what did the damage. To avoid rounding out the rivet holes in your tunnel you might consider switching to high compression bolts and then Loctite all the things (possibly the inside washer too? I have never done that, but it seems like it would work? It would give effectively a steel hard point for all your mounting holes so they don't round out under the tree banging, better yet JB weld the inside washers, then you will really have hard mounting points that will never move. Jus some thoughts from a Physicist/mechanic/former sledder
