I love videos like this. Falls right into a lot of people's dreams/vision for what personal aviation or owning a helicopter would look like. Would love more content like this! Long format too!

Great that you had a good and safe journey. Chetwynd, Mackenzie and McBride are all beautiful as are the areas around them. I’m a bit east but I can still see the mountains in the distance. That’s a view that never gets old.

Wow, it looked amazing flying over and around those peaks and ridges. It looked at times like you could have reached£ out and touched th3 ridges, even though you were allowing plenty of clearance, I guess an illusion caused by jeight to valley floor.

Just curious, if you had to drive that trip, how long would it take? Also, the tires are raised beds for gardening?
@PilotYellow
@PilotYellow Месяц назад
It takes about 12 hours to drive and about 4.3 to fly. Yes the tires are raised gardens.

Not sure I'd put my entire family inside a R44 for a flight.. These Robinson helos are barely safe even when there is no wind. With wind, you are at it's mercy.

they have a very bad safety record

I was going to write a similar comment. The footage was beautiful and the video was edited wonderfully. However, putting your entire family over that terrain on one engine is a little bit risky. I have no doubt that the pilot could put it down safely but it would be out in the middle of nowhere potentially in high mountainous terrain. The time it might take rescuers to get to a high terrain crash site might be very long exposing the family to harsh elements.

It’s one of the best selling helicopters out there. I don’t personally fly them, but would have no problem taking my family for a flight. Just sounds ignorant.
@Stefan_Dahn
@Stefan_Dahn 27 дней назад
@@dclarky2Yes you sound ignorant, when you deny the risk of engine out autorotation in the Rockys. You AND your family will be gone forever!

The problem with the Robinson’s safety record isn’t the aircraft, it’s the fact that in comparison to other aircraft it’s inexpensive. You get a bunch of yahoo’s who don’t respect safety and get themselves into trouble by doing things they shouldn’t

The very idea of being in a small aircraft terrifies me but the idea that someone can just fly wherever for fun is wonderful and rather mindboggling to my terrestrial self. I grew up wondering what was behind the North Vancouver mountains and the sight of range on range from the air is absolutely fascinating.
