No so fast. A lot of human blood, sweat and tears went into this production for sure. They're just producing examples of the highest quality possible in order to make it more appealing to composers who may want to use the product. Some of these productions may be real players as well. Also, some elements may have been added by a human. I'm not really convinced that AIVA can produce the "epic" drum part all by itself. My experience with it is that often drum sections are awkward and sometimes have strange meters and timing.
This has come a long way. The music has a lot clearer narrative now. It doesn't seem as confused as it used to. Good switching back and forth between themes. Although I was listening to this among other music and my wife came in and without prompt, said "Is this more AI music? It doesn't sound right". Bear in mind I haven't played any to her in almost a month when I first introduced her to this channel.
The thing that doesn't sound right is that you'll be getting into the rhythm of the song and then as its changing you subconsciously expect it to hit a certain note, or a select from a series or "correctly feeling notes", and it often ends up picking one that just isn't what your brain was feeling for, leading to dissonance. Ergo: it creates the sense that the creator couldn't feel the music as they played it, leading to them choosing the wrong notes.
@@TechnoMinarchist But there is no "correct" - I'm not sure AIVA knows when to select the incorrect note for effect, and so on. Sometimes the correct note is the incorrect note. There is also a heck of a lot human work that went into that production. So the fact that it still sounds a bit "off" is not too impressive.
@@TechnoMinarchist You guys are funny lol. You only say this stuff because you know it's AI generated. There is nothing off or generic about this composition. I have heard hundreds of human compositions that sound more generic.
One simply does not know if Mars is the only planet solely inhabited by robots. Perhaps "our robots" have already reproduced themselves, whilst listening to their own epic musical masterpieces, and travelled onwards.
Because it is. It's a bit of trickery. They have AIVA produce a skeletal piece, and then they tweak it and maybe even use real players. It takes a talented composer to make this kind of work. AIVA could not do this by itself.
Complete detail is that AI is given example music of which it reproduces parts that as per many here aren't technically (music wise) speaking right, then humans edit/ add various parts for cohesion/ order. The titles are also human given. One can see that maybe in a few years to come AI will be able to do all of the above by itself
Unfortunately, it is very difficult to achieve same quality from the program, as in this track. It took me 49 attempts to generate something even roughly similar, but still worse in quality. So everything is not as smooth as the developer claims. I am sure that in the future, artificial intelligence will indeed be able to create great music, but today this future has not yet arrived.
Can the AI "retry" or modify a previous piece that you kind of like by you giving pointers / making more precise requests ? Or do you have to start from scratch each time ?
The music has once again shown me what a great time we are living in (the incredible landing manoeuvre of Percaverance and the associated genius of all the people who made it possible; Elon Musk's Spacex is in the process of building future space tourism with Starship and sending people to Mars; the internet; artificial intelligence is able to create wonderful music that can make the listener think. What an incredible time to be alive NOW, to be able to witness all these developments and progresses, and I am sure that it won't take long before man will not only live here on Earth, but also on other planets (most likely Mars). Of course, humanity is facing many challenges right now (climate change, poverty, hunger, violation of human rights, corruption, war, crime,...) but if I look into the past I also find successes. For example, the global poverty rate has been falling steadily in recent years and more and more people (especially women) are gaining access to education and rights. I am looking forward to be amazed once again by the achievements humans kind could accomplish (no matter, if it is great AI music, making the human a multi-planetarian species, a new way to stop poverty, bringing education to poor people,...)
my guess - the title has been added by a human being and that's why it doesn't match the way of landing, or maybe that one with some malfunctioning and screaming on the deck
It may work in the short term as a tool. The resulting compositions are not original. Ai used extremely typical elements often used. Another Ivan Torrent, Steve Jablonsky, Hans Zimmer etc. song but they are better. I think this Ai tool needs to mature.
