To be very fair, humans were not made to parent as just a couple. We evolved to have parents and grandparents and siblings and cousins and auncles and niblings and even non-related friends help us in parenting. (There is actually a scientific theory called the "Grandmother Hypothesis" that the reason humans live past childbearing age at all is because of the tremendous help they can provide their grown children with their own kids). Since most of us don't live in those tribal groups anymore where endless help was always available, I don't think hiring paid help is that far-fetched. HOWEVER, the couple is not totally off the hook and still has a responsibility to actually parent, and that is where Landon and a lot of dads seem to fall short. P.S: I also don't think it's fair to say that because not everyone can afford paid help, Landon and Sophia should not get it or encourage their viewers to get it if they can afford to do so. It's not their responsibility to be quiet about their privileges in order to appease their viewers who cannot afford the lavish things they can.

Considering that their plan is to simply get a nanny, I don't think they'll be putting in any of the work raising that kid. They'll just be posting cute pics and videos but the nanny's will the ones doing the actual parenting. I feel really bad for the kid.
