A new series about the restoration / preservation of my 1989 discovery 1 v8. #landrover #discovery #4x4 #offroad #rebuild #restoration #classic #classiccar #welding #v8 #retro #mechanic #mechanical
Great video! I’m looking forward to following your progress on it. I’ve got a 97 Disco 1 I’m rebuilding. The Discovery 1s don’t get much love, but I think they’re the last of the “old school” Land Rovers.
Couldn’t agree more. These early discoveries really are the perfect bridge between bumpy agricultural defender and soft luscious Range Rover! Ticks all my boxes. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment
Stunning disco. That switch under the bonnet looked like a battery isolator like the red key cut off switch. I’m fitting one the same to your old Range Rover for a second battery
@@Automotiveolie slowly lol. Waiting on a chassis to arrive for the strip down of my blue one then I can prep the 71 chassis ready to drop the body on it. Pretty much being held up then it’s just putting it altogether again :)
My father purchased a Tdi in the same colour as yours in early 1990. It was a great vehicle and with the best engine of all time in a Land Rover in both reliability and mpg. Thanks for sharing😀
No, sadly it was wrecked a few years ago by a later owner. I agret to day that I didn’t bought it from my father, but at that time I had a Range Rover Classic and a 110 high cap who needed my attention😉
My Brother has the older Discovery, think its a 300tdi, not sure but he has spent years preserving it. Of course it has a huge modified front bumper, jack up kit and wheels like monster max lol.
