The boat you have called Rotten and decrepit (The big one) , is a historic vessel HDML1392 aka ShipHappens on RU-vid. Pop by the channel and say hi and have a look at her history and progress.
As I said in rhe video...I made the comment that it was a 'beauty'. The condition of it speaks for itself. It was my fave of the boats there. I defo didn't mean to trigger anybody linked with the boat. Apologies if so
@@karlphoto365 Stumbles across millions of hearts in love with the same boat for the same reason. Something is different about this vessel, something speaks beyond its wooden planks, its rust and its holes. It is my thought that there is more at play with the love for this boat than we can see.
I think Karl was saying that he actually likes that the boat is a bit rotted but it's nice to hear that it is being restored as it is a beautiful boat. Great video as usual mate 👍
Exactly. ThanKs for actually listening to me . If you watch precious vlogs I point out my love for anything old abandoned weathered. More interesting than pristine items
Just subscribed to your channel as I am a keen follower of Sarinda, she is being lovingly restored by Simon & Gemma from Ship Happens as I can see from other comments made. Sarinda is now starting to sit up with her shoulders back relishing all the love that is now being shown her. Yes it does look a disaster zone but also there must be so much history along those beached craft, very sad. It is amazing how the local council have suddenly sat up and taken note and talking about clearing the mess up, possibly brought about by the interest being shown on that restoration project of Sarinda. Love what you have made of the yacht photo too. Thank you. Simon and Gemma did do a short video a few months back taking similar footage of the boats.
The ship that is alarmed and has surveillance cameras is a WWII vessel called Sarinda, she is currently under a major restoration by a local couple. Most of the work they are doing is internal right now, but they are making good headway under the circumstances.. See "Ship Happens channel" If you ask them, they will probably allow you to film inside. It's very interesting..
Just to add a lot of the work on the boat has been internal!! And I've seen people admit it seemed like a lost cause at first but it is being restored and it will be exciting to see how the boat looks in time!! Fantastic photos by Karl...really show cases the boats character!
The condition of this is far from pristine and I'm glad work has gone into it as it was my face of all the boats. So much personally to it. I hope to see it one day in all its glory
Cheers Mark. If I had longer I would of gone a bit deeper for some nice macro shots as you say. But I had a teenager in tow so my patience could only go so far haha . I will return for sure to do some personal work. No vlog pressure haha
Lovely photography, some beautiful shots there. Perhaps having somewhat rubbished the historic HDML that Simon and Gemma are working so hard on restoring it might be polite to offer them some of your shots of her.....?? (BTW, they recommended your blog).
His comments were completely fair, although she is looking better now, she had been neglected and left to rot for decades..which he found pleasing enough to to cameo. I'm sure that now he knows Sarinda's history, he will love her all the more, Gemma and Simon would not appreciate you repremanding him on their behalf, they hate such behaviour.
I hadn't been here for 11 years until I had a quick look about 3 or 4 weeks ago while I was in the area for work. I hope I can get back there with my camera before it all goes.
What an interesting location - would be an excellent place to visit if it ever floods or in mist/ fog at sunrise... Great vlog as usual Karl & thks for sharing...👍
If you would have a closer look to Sarinda you might have seen the huge efforts the couple has already invested to recover the boat to its beauty, and they will continue until the boat can sail again around the world. Some kind of apology is required to the family and all supporters.
Watch the video again and listen to my first comment.. This is being blown up far bigger than it needs to be my friend. Its a photography channel at the end of the day. No malice here.
I dont understand why an apology is needed the boat is rotted and Karl actually said that he liked that about it (it's got character!). If you watch Karl's previous vlogs you will see that he loves to see things that have decayed and are in their natural form ...he appreciates the raw beauty. Karl actually says that he thinks it looks great against the sky line if you actually listen to him. He does not say that he dislikes it it was his favourite boat as he has said in other comments and he actually spoke to the owners on the day and was really in awe of it. Some great work is going into the boat which is fabulous!! I am a big fan of Karl's I have been watching him from day 1 and I know that he would not cause offence deliberately so please re watch and see that he is actually appreciating the boat in its current form and stating factually that is it rotted (as it is) but that it looks great. Will be great to see the restoration work in the future it is a fantastic boat!!
@@karlphoto365 I agree, she is what she is, she had been neglected for decades, until the current owners bought her on eBay..she's already looking better than when you filmed this, don't let people drag you down to their level, your comments were very fair..
I dont think that's fair isn't someone allowed to visit somewhere for the first time and appreciate its beauty? Karl is saying that he likes that the boat is a bit rotten and that it looks nice against the skyline. It is lovely to hear it is being restored though as it is a beautiful boat.
His comments were completely fair, most of the restoration had been internal when he filmed this. He's a photographer, who appreciated the neglected state she was in, enough to give her a cameo in his vlog, it was her deterioration that drew in those 63k subscribers and there are no signs up telling of Sarinda's history. Next time he visits, he will see her transformation slowly taking shape.
I stand corrected Karl, you explained like a gentleman and I now stand corrected and apologise as one for hasty words. I do stand by the nice pictures element though ;-)
His comments were completely fair, most of the work has been internal at this point..she hadn't even had the hull fully primed at the time he visited, and he can be forgiven for not noticing the new forward roof. Gemma and Simon are doing a fantastic job, but they definitely wouldn't appreciate you and the attack dogs giving this poor guy grief..
