Some of my favorite videos are when you're in the Banff area. You always seem so naturally happy. Had an awesome visit there last fall & love that I can picture exactly where you are.
Was just in Jasper and David Thompson Country this weekend - got a lot of good photos with my dinky little point and shoot. Great photos this video man!
I must go back to Banff/Jasper - last time I was there it was mid May and so much snow around struggled to even walk to Peyto Lake viewpoint but the views!!!
The pano (at 7:07) is out of this world! I just stared at it for I don't know how long. It's a landscape shot I have never seen before and it's really an inspiration to try looking for that shot that's something different. Nice work!!
Hey Brendan, waddaya think about heading east to Dinosaur Park for a change of scenery, maybe let the folks know that there's more - a LOT more - to Alberta than that skinny strip of mountains? Not that there's anything wrong with what you're shooting but the badlands are gorgeous at this time of year!
SOOOOO beautiful up there. Was up there last year and was REALLY lazy about actually getting out there for the best light. Hope to improve that in Italy soon. See you in Trentino! Looking forward to the presentation :)
How is it possible you were the only one there at Bow Lake? Amazing. Every time I have shot at Bow Lake there were buses disgorging trainloads of tourists. Really great video! Love it.
Fabulous stuff!!! I was there 9 years ago, your video makes me want to return, only had a Canon G11 then but the scenery is so amazing can't go wrong with any camera. Question - do you never get a colour cast with ND filters? How do you avoid it or fix it? No-one ever discusses this in their landscape photography videos.
Bummer about the weather. But the bears were cool. Also a bummer about Canada and it no drone policy in National Parks. Drone footage in Banff would be epic. I'm off to Canso Nova Scotia this July and it too is a no drone zone because there is a hospital with a helipad right at the end of town.
Every time you return home you shoot beautiful photos. You don’t do Canada justice enough. You should spend some more time there coz it’s a beautiful country. Also for those moments when you are down in the ground you should consider a platypod. It’s the best solution for such low level shooting.
Thanks, Brendan, I'm really enjoying your visit to Canada. Sorry the sunrise didn't work out, but you got some beautiful images at Bow Lake! Looking forward to your further Canadian adventures.
Dude, I am loving your channel right now. I've been unsubscribing from other channels that I've been following for years as they have gone stale. I've never enjoyed yours more! I was at Bow Lake last year. As an amateur, with only 30 mins, I really struggled to find a great composition. Can wait to see what you get at Peyto Lake!
Great video! I moved from UK to Alberta about 2 years ago and to me this place is amazing, reinvigorated my passion for photography! Have you spent much time photographing the badlands?
I like your sense of humor... very subtle and unplanned... very Canadian/English/#irony. Not something you would notice in the lands south of your border....I think we know to whom I refer...Bless them.
always experiment, bracket, exposure blend, use 5 or 6 of the best post processing progs available and use a few of the best from each ( be careful here ) its many many things but at the end its art.
had the chance to take a beautiful sunrise at Lake Louise earlier this month.. Got the ice and the water puddle in the shot.. Didnt have the time for bow lake though.. Maybe nxt time....
Hey Brandon, I just wanted to say the out of focus foreground pano is one of the best images I've seen from you. Reeeeally unique and well executed shot in my opinion :)
Very enjoyable, Brendan. I've checked my mobile weather app and you're in for some fine weather ahead for both Jasper and Banff. "You gotta suffer for your art'. someone once said.
Great video. My trick for night photography in bear country is playing an audio book. The problem is it seems to encourage the coyotes to visit and howl a few meters away while hidden in the trees.
Hey Brendon, personally I would encourage you to show your family members and talk a little bit about what they do etc. if you have the chance while being home! Would love to hear that. Cheers, Max
How amendable is the enforcement to overnight parking in that area? I'll be up there around the solstice and had a similar plan.. get a sunset, stars and sunrise in around six hours. But it sounds like they're getting strict about policing campers and I'm reluctant to leave my car in a lot without me in line of sight. I'm not "camping" but not sure they'll see it like I do.
If you're not sleeping - like curled up in the back in a bag - they don't care. If you look like you're camping - they'll move you. They're getting strict.
