Finally the stunning conclusion to our Kings Canyon backpacking misadventures! We had over 32 miles to hike and only two days to do it. Or we could opt to go over the shorter, but FAR MORE DANGEROUS Lamarck Col shortcut, which claims the lives of thousands of hiker's lunches every year. What will will decide and will the weather gods gift us with beautiful conditions to reward our boldness, or punish us for imprudence?? Watch this video to find out.

Do you prefer vlogs like this one where I share lots of photos with my thought process? Or vlogs like Part 1 of this video that has more storytelling?

Great video Joshua, loved your nightime-lapse and the shots of course. Yeah the wind can really wear you down and penetrate the cold through you when it's like that. I've just got back from a week camping on Exmoor and experienced exactly the same thing. Thankfully windproof jackets help out a lot and with the hood up too for the ears!

I like a little of both! The storytelling helps put me in your place and helps inform the photos you’re taking and what you had to go through to take them.

I spend a lot of time above 10k in the Sierra and the light at dawn and dusk can't be fully understood unless you are there. Gorgeous place.

You've confirmed my need to add the JMT to my future itinerary. Excellent shots as always. Saw that waterfall as you were starting to speak and I had in mind a similar shot, likely your execution was better. That second shot though where even the shadows were leading you deeper into the scene, wow! No references to Swass to make us chuckle though.

Either style is good with me (vlogs 1&2). I just dig your content; I've learned a lot from your videos and hope you keep producing quality videos and tutorials.

What an amazing place to hike! As usual, I love your videos, but you have to ease on the pan/zoom effect and let us enjoy your photos more :-)
