LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY it PAYS to take the LONG ROUTE

Sometimes in landscape photography it pays to take the long route to your location rather than parking up as close as you can. By parking further away and walking into the area it opens up the possibility to find alternative scenes, compositions and subjects, particularly if it's a new location that you're going to.
That's what I did in this video and I'm glad that I did because it meant I created some images that just wouldn't have happened if I'd taken the easy route.

Great video Ralph, it is always worth having a good walk it is amazing what you can find. Love the capture of the buildings and the reflections also nice high shot of the walkway. Keep up the work and glad to see you are feeling better. 👌

Tough conditions Ralph but you worked your compositions like a trooper. The final fisheye was inspired and I loved the walkway at 9.50 too. Have a great weeke ahead buddy 🙏🙏🙏

Hi Ralph, great video this week well worth parking away from your main location and walking, you got some lovely images and some exercise as well, all the shots were really good I liked the last one the most with the reflection of the buildings.

Brilliant Ralph, and because you deviated from your main path you took some lovely images there. My favourite was the first image, the B&W was just amazing and based upon your last video where you talked about high contrast that just proved your point, amazing image

Another great video Ralph. To me all the photos are good, but I must admit that the last one with the reflections is..... stunning ! And then you are right, parking far from the initial location allows us to immerse ourselves in the area, and sometimes take photos that we hadn't necessarily expected. A method that I will try to follow more often. And by the way, walking is good for our health.

Your first image was perfect for black and white ! That tree looked very interesting! Any reason why it was bare ? Pity the nudies were on a day off 😂😂😂
