2 of my lifelong favorites. Stevie and Neil. Saw them in Grand Rapids first couple weeks of tour...BEYOND EXCELLENT, again in Detroit, middle of tour...no regrets. Long tour. #1 fan of Stevie growing up, #1 fan of Neil as a young adult. Them performing together...dream for me.
I love Neil Finn but I saw the famous five which included Lindsay and that’s the true Fleetwood Mac for me. These songs were about them, to them and for them which made it so very special. I guess things don’t last forever
Love it. I saw Yes in the late 90s. Jon came out to sing And You And I and said, "wait a minute, I forgot the words!" The audience started singing and he caught the wave with a big smile and carried on beautifully. Sometimes, especially when the performance is so spot on, you wonder whether it's live or Memorex ... a moment like that is a reminder that risks are being run, and magic is actually being performed before your very eyes. Not sleight of hand.
The one I saw was actually with Yes, but it happened again in 2013 in a kind of similar way. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ev1rzX9zqsI.html
I'm dismayed at the number of remarks related to ageism which have been removed for obvious reasons. To those who commented in this way, may you live long enough to understand, you've got it wrong. Fortitude is to be celebrated.
The small mistakes are what makes live music better than recorded music. Like a wrinkle in a fine piece of leather or a missed stitch in lace. Give to me the real leather and lace.
I used to love Fleetwood Mac but then I got really tired of all the drama and backstabbing and narcissism..does anyone else agree Neil Finn is too good for this band?
That lead portion was played beautifully. I play and sing this song solo, and I improvise that part. There are about 14 notes just before returning to the vocals, (Well, I've been afraid of changing...) not easy to do.
See quite a few butt hurt Buckingham fans here. “oh they’re not the same blah blah” Well no shit guys, since when has their line up ever been the same? And yes people do grow old so obviously Stevie Nicks is not the same hot 30 year old high on cocaine. Interesting to see a lot of young people listening to them.
When Mick Fleetwood asked Lindsey Buckingham to join the band, Lindsey told Mick if you want me you will have to also take my girlfriend into the band, not as a back up singer but as a lead singer and Mick set up a lunch to see how Christine and Stevie would get along and it went very well. By Lindsey saying no Stevie, no me he changed the fate of their lives. There are guys who never would have made that ultimatum to Mick. Regardless of her ill feelings towards Lindsey she should always remember his supreme loyalty towards her back then.
Ok i listened again. I was kinda pissed at what i was reading in the comments in here, but yeah Stevie kinda dropped the ball here for sure. She is human, but yeah if you can't do it anymore it might be time to reconsider doing it at all. Sad but true. I get that it is your bread and butter and you can find it fun to do and i'm all for doing what makes you happy, but you sometimes have to look at the whole picture and your legacy and realize it might be time to close shop as to not tarnish what once was. It pains me to write this really and for those saying Lindsey this and Lindsey that. He is a very talented musician for sure, but he's also quite full of himself and always has been and i'm sure is hard to deal with. That head probably can't fit properly in the room with most people.
Jesus! Neil is getting old as dirt. Not that Stevie isn't, but i haven't seen dude in awhile and i've been a fan since the Split Endz. Yeah you are "getting older too" alright guys. Ancient more like. I bet they both fart dust. Lol. That's not to say i'm not a huge fan of both or that i'm some kind of spring chicken, but they have a few years on me and it definitely shows. Guess i'm not too far behind. :/
I think FM is trying hard to stay alive... they dont sound the same.. for whatever reasons... Lindsay gone and replaced... or Stevie’s voice not the same. I dunno... i think they need to let it all go... and retire on a high and not drag it to its death with new members. They will always be legendary and unmatched and no one can take that away from them.
Sadly Stevie has aged a decade and is full of remorse. If Fleetwood Mac subbed out Stevie for Mekenzie Jackson then replaced Neil Finn and Mike Campbell for Lindsay Buckingham then you would have a Blast from the past..
Neil was hired to mainly sing. Mike was hired to play lead. Neil is a fine guitarist but is a songwriter first and foremost and uses the guitar to that end. He’s not a shredder or anything.
