I simply love his expression. Some think it's overkill but it rings entirely genuine to me. I think the fact he's willing to put his all into his performances and not hold back any emotion is what often puts them an order of magnitude above others.
he literally made 3:06 that part sounds like harp the notes are really crisp and the dynamic too! absolutely incredible!! together with that strong pinky playing steady and soft trill~ spectacular!
Lang lang is such an amazing showman. He has such a delicate and clear interpretation and brings so much excitement to the stage, no wonder he is a favorite today
People complaining about his facial expressions and exagerated movements have no idea how hard is to "suposely fake" those movements in a live performance. Lang Lang is clearly passionated about his craft and he shows it without any doubt.
There's a difference between smashing keys between langlang and normal people, he is at the top of his game and we are not. When you reach professional level of playing and have full control of the piano, it all comes down to how one interprets the piece, you would have to research how the composer felt when writing this piece, and i think what langlang played was how he perceived the information he got. If you think he is show offing then go ahead and think otherwise because that's what he feels right now. Everyone has a different emotion in every age. Langlang style will change while he ages just like any musician. So instead of hating it, why not enjoy it while it is still infront of you
John Smith How else would you play it? Playing with just the 2-3 finger wouldn’t create the same dynamics and you might even cramp up practicing. It’s much more efficient to do what Lang Lang is doing
@John Smith the only problems you're presenting is that those 2 measures are so disrespectful just because it's inhumanly fast that the only argument you present yourself with is the fact that you wouldn't play it in a music store. I've presented all valid arguments to those statements, so at this point I really don't know what you're problem is, and at this point I really don't care. I really REALLY hope you realize this is an encore, which is meant to show off (which you should know). And you should know Liszt is a showman, and that LL is just having fun and "showing off", just like how Liszt and Horowitz and many other greats would (Also, adrenaline is a thing). Did you know that Argerich literally punches the keys in Prokofiev 3? That Ligeti's Etude no.13 has a FFFFFFFF? That theres a piece that requires your whole arm to play 12+ keys at once? If you think this is distasteful then I'm straight up just lost for words.
Correction : It may be toughest piece to play the first time when u see the score. But constant practice makes any song easier, as your brain automatically gets ready for the next note to be played.
i never used to like lang lang too much, but i am starting to appreciate him more. that was an amazing performance! i bet liszt would appreciate the way lang lang played this piece
S550 Danny Rousseau’s version was amazing but not gonna lie the difference in terms of touch and clarities is really huge with Lang Lang...I am constantly blown away by the little details that can actually make a piece sound completely different...To be able to play this song at a plausible level will be my ultimate goal for the next 3 years :D
Jesus Christ I have never ever seen someone played Piano like this ever in my whole life. This was absolutely out of this world. PHENOMENAL! INCREDIBLE! BEYOND WORDS! holy mother of God!!! Thank you for recording this!!!
Such verve and passion, ay, incredible. Those high notes sounded like bells. Wonderful virtuosity in the allegro passages. Lang Lang plays with such joy. His playing feels like a clear rushing mountain stream.
I usually think its stupid for people to record on the phone during a concert as its not allowing them to fully enjoy the moment, but good god am I glad you did, thank you!!

One of the best things about Lang Lang is that he is ‘himself’ while playing...all his actions and moods seem to overflow from his very soul. He embraces his own style...and he has created his own style.
Wow I didn't even notice this! No wonder his interpretation of this part of the piece has always sounded so much more different to other performers. Nice spot!
4:00 I've seen about 10 La campanella covers on RU-vid, all played really well. But I only liked Lang Lang's version for this part. Hard to explain but it feels like he delivers the Excitement so well that it seems like it's a different song, probably because he played it a lot faster but it was still so accurate and well executed. Well, its Lang Lang anyways so no surprise
could not stop smiling while watching this, EVERYONE SHOULD PLAY CLASSICAL MUSIC LIKE THIS, this is what music is about, it's fun, it's sad, it's happy, it's innocent, it's deep. it is what it is. i hate it when people over complicate things
@@bryvnxiii4632 he/she didn't mean to say that everyone should play classical music, she/he wanted to say that every one should play classical music LIKE THIS.
d00mPlays Its because he put countless hours of effort into playing piano not because he’s “ofc he’s Asian.” Why don’t we all stop generalizing and realize that to become good at something you have to put in the hours. Telling by your profile picture I assume you’re just some fat white kid living in his mom’s basement, but of course that’s not entirely true because maybe you aren’t. See where I’m getting at? Lets stop being narrow minded and look at the bigger picture thank you much.
@@nevikgnehz368 listen, he is good at the piano because he was lucky enough to have the opportunity to start at an early age. He got good because he tried hard, but trying hard is something that comes with luck, if someone doesn't have the right motivation or is lazy they will never work hard, working hard is based on luck your personality determines how hard you work and your personality is determined on how you are born and raised. I will never be as good as lang lang or kissin simply because they are luckier than I am. I am not denying that hard work is hard, but to have the capacity to practice at the piano after finishing work/school is determined by luck. Also, why the fuck are you bringing race into this? The Asian thing is a joke (it is also a positive thing about Asians), calling someone a fat white kid is rude. Lets stop being narrow minded and look at the bigger picture thank you much.
My God ! Lang Lang just sailed through one of the arguably most difficult pieces ever written with such perfection, aplomb and technical virtuosity not to mention perfect timing, not an easy task given the complexity of the piece. With his own unique interpretation of a piece that’s been done to death over the years. A bravura performance , bought La Campanella to life for me !👏👏👏👏
To nandinirao6035: I like the way you described your reaction to Lang's performance. One thing, though: There's absolutely no 'complexity' in "La Campanella". It's simply a series of rather obvious variations on a theme by violinist Paganini.
I must have watched this a million times. Lang Lang is just flying on this piece. He's the boss and have total control of this to the point where he is literally, watching the bullets fly like in the matrix.
i love how he's enjoying it like, really, unlike how most pianist focus on composure ( which is great ) he's focusing on actually enjoying the notes, which is great
298 dislikes are those pianists who hates how he played this famous piece in his own style but yet they themselves cannot even play it at the right tempo
The best interpretation after watching many other versions and dozens of time. Exciting, nice development from start to finish like reading a book. Complete mastery of the piano.
This guy has balls of steel and the confidence to pull it off. What on earth is he smoking? Never heard him play it like this. Heart was racing after watching this.
Take a look at the other musicians, how surprisingly look at his fingers!!! We have to know that the world has only one Lang Lang!! So proud of you 😍😍😍
Lang Lang plays awesome but is also the first "cool" piano world class player. He really enjoys what he does and shows it. Like that. This piece: very interesting interpretation; partly losing the track of right keys but then this is an insanely difficult piece.
Por algo lo llaman el pianista del siglo. Es verdaderamente excepcional. El solo que ejecuta en la campanella de paganini es tremendamente difícil de ejecutar y sin embargo el lo hace fácil. Eso ES LO DIFICIL. Grandioso.❤❤❤❤
