This is so important what she's mentioned since everyone is saying that you should talk to people but many don't know where to start first and I think she is giving a good guideline for people that struggle to connect with strangers especially.

Great ideas! I'm at the writing stage in Spanish but working on the conversational part. Sometimes as you said you don't have to say much. I was in a conversation with a Spanish speaker at a store. He did all the talking. I would just say one or two words here and there. It was a great conversation.
I learned foreign languages for like 10 years before I realized I was actually an introvert. Small talk in foreign languages is fun cause it feels like a game where you have to learn the common ways of doing things, but once I learned those skills I would do everything possible to avoid small talk. 4 languages later, I realized it wasn't the people I was speaking to that were the problem, lol

I'm an introvert and learning a language, but funnily enough, i almost feel like i'm less of an introvert when in another language, although i'm not at a level to have a conversation, the joy i get of being understood outweighs the fear of talking to someone new.
The beginning was great but I didn't enjoy the end of the video so much haha. So many extrovert stuffs, It's so stressful but I guess we don't have a choice... (Except this part : 6:14 I realized something that will help me to do not feel guilty anymore 😅 )

i think people confuse mental illness with introversion too often. introversion does NOT mean being shy, or anxious or socially awkward. introvert isn't a disease lol. it's simply just needing to reload energy by yourself and then go out and be with people, and people drain you. that doesn't mean you aren't around people. and it doesn't mean you have poor social skills or you're so anxious you have to go home. those things aren't related. AT ALL. if you have these things going on inside, it's not introversion, it's illness or lack of skills. it's also NOT a personality? don't label yourself with such a thing. being introverted is not all that you are, and if you keep telling yourself you can't do things because "oh I'm an introvert, i don't do that" that's really unhealthy. you're just a person, where social interaction drains your energy. if you feel others things, like anxiety, don't confuse that with introversion. the two are not linked.
IT IS RELATED! Every skill needs to be practiced a lot to be good at it (social skills included), and when you are an introvert, you mostly can't do that (practice a lot) because you love to spend most of your time alone (at least not much as an extrovert can practice). So an introvert's social skills are most likely will be lacking compared to an extrovert's. And when the standard of 'good at socializing' is based on extrovert's social skills, then introvert's social skills will be considered lack,. And from here, lack of social skills --> socially awkward --> shy --> lack of confidence --> and so on. So again, IT IS RELATED!
