Are you also struggling to keep up your language-learning habits during Covid-times? Would you like to have some tips on what you could do and how you could practice? Then be sure to watch this video, I'll also be talking about setting realistic goals, being kind to yourself and some other useful things to take into account. This is a video that can be applied to any language you would like to learn and practice during these unpredictable pandemic times.
If you want to practice, then maybe check out these language tandems:

Since I moved to the Netherlands, I have been periodically recording myself reading articles in Dutch, so I can compare my speaking over time. This helps reassure me that I am indeed improving, even though in the later stages of learning a language it sometimes feels like you're standing still. Plus I also found interesting things like that mijn 'g' veel zachter is geworden, wat best logische is aangezien dat mijn eerste leraar Nederlands uit Noord Holland kwam, en dat ik tegenwoordig veel vrienden uit Noord Brabant heb.

I really agree with u mate! As I have been learning dutch for 1 year in belgium and right now I can speak to an extend. As Im not mistaken I learned until B1 thresold ! And the key is to prevent yourself to speak your own language. Whatever happens, try to speak in dutch and it works pretty well. Also watching dutch programmes is significant. Salutjes!

I think this is a very important topic to discuss in the language community and I love the tone of the video and how caring it is.

I'm super happy to hear that. I didn't mention it in the video, but I just don't think it's a good idea to use "lockdown" and "be productive" for its own sake. I hope people take care of themselves, their loved ones and try and stay healthy and do whatever it is that they need to do to get by, and if you manage to learn a language in the meantime because you need to / want to, great, but I wouldn't get sucked in to the black hole of "productivity guru's" the internet these days is riddled with. It can lead you down a very negative spiral and I just wanted to make this video to remind people to be kind to themselves when learning a language during these challenging times. I'm so glad you liked it and the message came through. :-)

I started to learn Dutch after English (even though I still need to improve my English). The problem of my Dutch journey is to reach the Dutch people for get some discussions. BecauseI thought learn the theory from some resources without practice and have interactions with the native is a little bit complicated. Dankuwel voor de video

I'm dabbling in Russian, but casually, in the weekends. It mostly revolves around me watching a bunch of Soviet films (which I'm in love with). ;-) But yeah. Slowly. Casually. My main motivation is just because I love Russian cinema in general and the literature too and I would like to understand better how the language actually works.

I think you're interested in Russian, because we don't have a fixed sentence order, like you do, and you're wondering how we can express all "those" shades of meaning thanks to that. :) Moreover, Russian has very rich vocabulary.

All of it true, but no, my main motivation is just to be able to understand a little more of Russian cinema and literature and Soviet rock music. :-)
