Lantac LA-SF15 .22LR - Full Review 

I've had my Lasf-15 compact for over a year now and I can't fault the rifle or the company. I knew the lead times to expect. Communication was good, and they take a deposit with the rest taken once it was in the country and back from proof. Really fun wee rifle and would recommend it to anyone.

I was surprised to see you reviewing the Lantac, having seen your previous posts. It can’t have been easy for you, but it’s good to see. Hope relations are healing so Kudos to you. I have an LA-SF15 and they are amazing rifles and well worth the wait. I have thousands of rounds through mine, but I recommend the TI firing pin upgrade for HV loads. As a post script, buffer spring is redundant for 22lr and easily removed, solves the twang, not that I’ve really noticed but might do now.

Good on you for providing an impartial review under the circumstances, I have a Lasf-15 standard and it's superb, I have had a Tippmann, A Kriss and a Smith and Wesson and Interestingly I would put the Tippmann and Kriss at the bottom of the pile. My Tippmann was unreliable to the extreme and my Kriss was inaccurate and fell strangely cheap and toy like.. Although the plastic M&P feels very "soft air" it was massively reliable, accurate and frankly cheap when I bought mine 10 years ago.. you cannot really fault them for the money. I have a Sub Raven on order and as you you say the lead times can be long but I was told this at point of order and have been kept updated on a regular basis so personally I am happy to wait. I replaced my M&P with a Spikes purely because I wanted a "real" AR, that lasted a 2 months, utter poo!!

You can fit a Taccom Pressure plug to stop the 'spring twang' - good review btw guys :-)

I eliminated the buffer ‘twang on my cmmg by upgrading the buffer spring to a Strike Industries flat carbine spring. Highly recommend to any sensitive souls 😁

Purchased my cmmg through Lantac where they machined a 11deg crown,polished the feed and sear.Had it for 5 years,never missed a beat.Not sure but I think the Lantac branded rifles use a Lantac made lower but still use the cmmg upper and bolt system.

Always good to hear your unbiased opinion. So getting the best .22 is a balance between budget and whats available for the new-be .22 rimfire practical beginner. Smith and Weston seem to be the best all rounder but Ruger have loads of attachments available. What your top 5 practical rifles is pretty much understood in a previous excellent video. but what would make a great u tube v blog, top 10 if poss. and why. :-)

Whenever possible, if possible in the UK, the Magpul MOE Carbine stock should be upgraded to the CTR stock. It's secondary lock takes all play and rattle out of the Buttstock/buffer tube assy. But you may already be aware of this.

Obviously it’s not a target rifle! But what sort of accuracy can you get from these rifles as opposed to other .2 2L are black rifles?

I see a lot of the .22 sporters on your channel are made in the USA. Is there anything over there of interest that's made in the UK for the British? Is there anything on the market over there like an L85A1/2/3 variant chambered in .22LR or .22WMR?

Would you say get the standard or compact? Is there much difference in the performance?

I own a S&W M&P which cost me a lot less than half the price of the Lantac. I've had no issues with it, no stoppages whatever ammo I use subsonic or high velocity. I agree an all metal receiver would have been better but not at over twice the price.

Do you think British people should be allowed pistol caliber semi-auto rifles again e.g 9mm, 5.7 X 28mm and 45acp calibers

Surely swapping the barrel & bolt to .223 also needs the semi-auto function blocked to only allow single pull to stay legal in the UK?

3:23 If you put a semi-auto 5.56 upper on it, wouldn't that make it section 5 and as such not able to be converted back into a section 1 firearm?

I have a probably stupid question. I’ve heard from a few people that if a gun was made/imported/registered before a certain date it can be owned without a license. Is this true?

It is quite pricey but it does look very nice. I probably wouldn't get one due to wait/customet service. I am an impatient guy, if I want a new gun I WANT IT NOW. lol

them add on parts look awful , they make it look like a childs gun , the muzzel brake adds to the childs gun effect too . just my my opinion . as for Lantac , i have never shot a bad one and all are good guns .

Apart from complying with UK gun laws, is there any other target market for such a .22 AR-15? I can't imagine who in other countries would require such a pea shooter.
