Well that is one small cookie!! I was very impressed with the images via youtube they looked great and the halo to me seems like a cool and fun quirk. I must admit I have a NiSi 9mm and initially I was thrown off not being able to use focus peaking and not seeing my aperture, but after some time out there taking images I got used to it. f/4 definetly makes this more of an outdoors lens especially for a crop sensor. Once again a fun, sprited, and also very enthusiastic video of you and Erik. There was one portrait photo of Erik you showed.... ❤ also the outtakes of his balancing skills 🤣 what a little trooper!
I love the lightness and spontaneity you achieve with all of your videos, and just the overall vibe of cuteness that wouldn’t be there without your joyful personality. You’re entertaining and engaging, two of the more important things I look for in a vlog post to keep my attention. On top of that I get to learn something new in a way that keeps me interested and leaves me with the feeling that I had fun while learning. I can start my day with a smile 😊
This is such a sweet and kind comment, thank you for taking the time to watch my video and also leave such lovely words. I just make my vlogs from the heart and like to share something positive that I enjoy, so if it is received like this then my work here is done ☺️✌🏻
Hello from the Pacific Northwest, USA. I just discovered this lens and watching your video I may need/want this to put on my Fuji cameras. This would be a good light weight lens to carry while hiking in the forest. Your videos are enjoyable, entertaining and informative. Glad I found you.
Always a pleasure reading your comments, thank you for watching and for your kind words. Yes the lens did great and was a pleasant surprise for sure! I am off on a hike now, and I hope you enjoy your weekend 🙂☀️
I know this is such a backhanded compliment, but my God, you deserve more subs. Your videos are awesome and your personality sets you really apart from the others. I value your opinion a lot! Always a pure joy to watch your videos :)
Haha aww that is very kind of you, thank you 😊 I much prefer the quality of my lovely subscribers than quantity so it is ok. Comments like this make it all worthwhile so thank you again ☺️
Glad to see more companies wanting to colab with you. 😃 This lens looks surprisingly good and is small enough to fit in any photography bag. Seems like a good lens to bring along on a hike. The landscape pics look pretty darn good! I think an f/0.95 lens in your hands would make for a great future review. The one you did on the Fujifilm XF f/1.0 was pretty darn amazing. Funny how this pancake lens is called "Cookie". Oh, and Erik was a great help again. 🤣
Thank you very much and it is great to get my hands on different equipment 🙃 It is and you hit the nail on the head, it is perfect just to chuck in the bag and head off out. I really enjoyed taking it on a hike, it was super light weight and a great angle of view. Thank you, I was pretty chuffed with them as I don't normally do landscape stuff 🙃 Aw thank you for this, that's very kind! I would love to try their other lenses, we shall see what happens! Hehe I know, Cookie, Pancake and loaf of bread (Erik), I was very hungry after this review! 🍪
Aww thank you for messaging all the way from Uruguay! I’m so glad you enjoy them and that you shoot with Laowa and Fuji too! Keep shooting and keep enjoying your photography 🙃⭐️
really nice, comprehensive, light hearted critique !! I've been thinking about whether i can find a little lens that can sort of transform my XT1/2 bodies into proper portable kits for long distanmce hiking where size and weight is very important. I've experiemnted with GoPros and been on the whole disappointed. My perfect little portable FuliX70 got wet through and died (that was a 28mm equivalent. Inveitably perhaps i have been thinking do i add one of the x100 cameras, but they are expensive and perhaps not that much smaller than an XT (with a pancake !!!!) thus i came across your video. Food for thought. Your water videos look a lot like the Lake \District but could be anywhere wet with woods i accept :) Thanks again
Glad to find Your YT Channel :). Great Sample Images !!!!! I just bought a cookie for My Nikon Z50 kit !!! When I travel I have 2 Nikon Z50's, so I do not have to change lenses.. I may have to buy another just for a super wide angle camera, it can share with the Nikkor 12-28mm.... Do You have an IG Page ????
Welcome to my channel! - just catching up on my comments now as i’ve been away. So glad you have the cookie, are you enjoying using it? I do have IG, it’s wildandfreevictoria 🙂
Tiddley, Piddley, Widdley…. If it was also Diddley I would have been interested in the lens, but no Diddley is a deal breaker for me . There are some wonderful images in this video 👏👏👏👏👏
hehe I a very sorry to have missed of the Diddley! That is an important factor of this lens and is in fact Diddley! Thank you very much it is was very fun to shoot with 🙃☀️
WOW - stop making me want to buy things - that is so dinky!! I need to avoid not having this on my X-T5 now!! Did you try it for videograpghy though? I don'd manual focusing for that BTW - I did rent an X-H2S this weekend - I asked you about it. So yeah, I get it, it has more dynamic range it seems that the X-T5 for video and of course the 4K 120 is quite a bit better. But I only have enough room (and money!) for one camera back - so I am sticking with the X-T5 as my go-to camera. I am very happy with it as an overall camera for me right now. But thank you for your comments, advice and footage :)
haha it is very dinky and no I didn't test it for filming, it's not a lens I would choose to film with so I just stuck with photography. Ahh this is great news, I am glad you got to rent it! Well that is a good decision and a wise one, that's the great thing about testing them because you can get a feel for what you are after. The X-T5 will still be brilliant and serve you well! You are most welcome and I am glad to have helped 🙃
Hi, Great review on the lens. I was on the fence about purchasing the lens, after your video, I have no choice now 🙂. I have a XT30 that I want to mount it on. Do I have to do anything special to the camera setting since its a manual lens? Yes, I am a new subscriber now 🙂
Thank you and glad you enjoyed it! Hehe it is a great lens and good fun to use. Yes I do have the Fujifilm specific set yo which is: 1) in the cameras settings - menu, settings, Button dial settings and clock - SHOOT WITHOUT LENS; 2) In settings under IQ (1 4/4 page) put in MOUNT ADAPTOR SETTING - 10mm. I hope that helps! And thank you tor subscribing 🙂✌🏻
@@yonseimatt That extra stop helps and the 1mm more is pretty big. In reality, there's only $100 difference in price and the 9mm is still a very small lens.
I'm sold. I can get the 9mm f2.8 used here in China for about 1,500 rmb (about $205 US) or the 10mm f4 for about 1870 rmb (~$256) new- I can't find any used- so it's actually cheaper too ☺@@duc_le_photography
Basic question but just wanted to make sure before commiting to this lens, with the lack of electrical contacts on the back of the mount does focus peaking still work with the manual focus?
I like your style of presentation. You have a new subscriber 😃... by the way, how does one correct the vignette in the camera? I shoot in jpeg, and I am using Fujifilm XT2 and XPRO-2. Thank you in advance.
@@wildandfreevictoria You have already, in part, convinced me to buy an XT-5, you are not going to start again with this Lens ! My banker is going to kill me 😂😅
