After most officers leave the scene, a supervisor and a Sargent talk to the detective who made the call for a fake trespassing violation. The detective lies and says I threatened the off-duty officer when in fact, I was the one being threatened with violence. This detective needs to be held accountable for falsely claiming we were trespassing and threatening an off-duty LAPD officer.
Sargent Brown serial #34044 was very professional and respectful towards the public while providing useful information. His demeanor and politeness as well as his sense of humor makes this Sargent a superb example of the type of officers and supervisors we need patrolling out streets.
I would also like to highlight 3 plain-clothes off-duty officers who were very professional with us and helped defuse the situation. I didn't get their names but ‪@sanjoaquinvalleytransparency1‬

That Brown dude is a needle in a hay stack and you could tell from his demeanor it wasn't just an act for the camera. He really took the time to have a proper conversation as well, doing exactly what is needed to build a bridge between the people and what was supposed to be the people's police.

The street is closed, the street is private, the parking lot is closed, the academy is closed, you’re not allowed to be here, you can’t film something in public, etc. These guys in no way acted like public servants. They acted like they’re above the law and that the people are subject to their will. All of this for people walking around with cameras. Ridiculous and shameful.

Thank you Sargent Brown for knowing about the first amendment. Please train all your employees on public photography. There is no reason that I can think of why all public employees are not trained on this “in this day and age” it should be pretty easy to do. . Most officers are not either but you sir could be a big help and a service to your country just by making sure this training takes place. Thank you and stay safe!

I hate the Double talk from the LAPD. I dealt with a police Chief in my local hometown in Antioch, CA (outside of San Francisco) and that FOOL said he owns the department meaning if I'm going to use Amplified sound, he has to approve of it in his jurisdiction. To get back to LAPD, they "double-talk" trying to remove someone off a non restricted public area. If the LAPD blocked or impeded your cameras just for video recording in public, sue them for a Tom Bane Act violation California penal code 52.1.

wow!!! Great schooling of the cops, you guys were so calm and professional. The Sarge called Brown was a great advert for the cops, wish there were more made from his mold. It wasn't until he said his Dad was from Scotland and was a big Glasgow Rangers football fan that it all made sense. With that DNA you cannot go wrong!!!!!

I don't understand why everyone in the comments is commending the sergeant who was clearly telling them a bullshit lie that they couldn't be there when he knew full well they could. Then his attitude changed once the plain clothes officers told them it's all good and the captain knows about it. These cops are all dumb and auditors need to stop being nice and thanking them that is why they all have huge ego's they do wrong and you treat them like they're just doing the best they can...
