They can put plastic stick dividers with 7 inch reinforcement from the ground so if they go over it, their undercarriage gets fucked and cause damage to their vehicles since they like to slam their ride down anyways. Makes it so only fire trucks and police SUV capable of maneuvering over it in case of emergencies and accidents.
They should just C4 the freaking bridge. Obviously people don’t need it. Or make use of it for the homeless . They’ll be more grateful than those people destroying it and crashing their cars to it.

Simple. Mandatory 30 days in jail for “street takeover” spectators and mandatory 90 days plus permanent vehicle confiscation for participants. After just a few of these enforcements the problem will be solved at least on this bridge.
Put a Toll gate barrier on each side and pay to cross. Use a card reader to read driver licenses and snap shot of drivers face and take a snapshot of vehicles license plate. Motor vehicle runs a background check on vehicle insurance also. Have police and tow trucks available to impound.

My thoughts exactly, in S FL they’re everywhere. Many ppl/vehicles cross them down here but that’s it. Never had something like a bridge take-over… just do it somewhere else if they don’t want ppl on the bridge then.
It’s obvious most of the people visiting the bridge have never seen a bridge and are amazed that humans can construct something this incredible. Just like humans they find a way to ruin and destroy it.

They should put spaced concrete dividers in the middle to separate the lanes. Lastly, speed bumps... not exactly ideal for a bridge, but in this case it's needed.
Cars need to be seized, impounded, and sold off for parts. Drivers need to be arrested, jailed, tried, and if convicted imprisoned for long enough for it to matter.
That would require a new mayor, DA attorney, and sheriff. It would also mean getting legislation passed and Newsom would just veto it at the first sight of community activists' complaints. Also more conservative judges would need to be elected.

@@preston74 Thanks. In that regard also I know a bit about LA. I know George Gascon from his SF days. He wasn't great as a DA in SF, in fact the open air drug use, car break-ins, and shoplifting started spiking during his tenure. But he is even worse in LA. A court recently told him that enforcing the law is not optional as DA. Specifically his blanket refusal to use the three strikes law. To be told that by a court is a real slap down for a DA. Gascon will probably try to find some other way around it though. The LA Sheriff actually seems fairly reasonable, but LA has definitely got DA problems. The current recall effort may help there. Can't happen soon enough.

This bridge is the prefect honeypot. Put some UC agents on the bridge, have them photograph all street takeover vehicles. Close the bridge on both sides at the same time. Then ticket and impound all vehicles involved.
How about portable speed bumps that can be drilled with bolts and then removing them when the idiots have to go home. One lane each way with some type of heavy barrier.
No they are blocking my right to travel first and second they need to do there job if they want to stop this kind of stuff but before they can do that they need to start giving tickets and take people to jail but the worst you get is a warning to show up in court like 5 years down the road so nothing to stop people from whiting to do it so get over your self you are they problem by letting crimes go unpunished
That bridge was a construction nightmare, still continues to become a nightmare after completion. They should of just left the old one in place. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Police department should work with social media companies to permanently closed social media accounts for those whom participated street take over or other crimes.

Closing the bridge at night isn't going to change anything. You can't close it forever let alone babysit it every night. There has to be serious consequences for there to be change.
Over the past decades Los Angeles has closed down drag racing strips where you can legally race and safely race. There's no place else to go now but to the streets. In the sixties and seventies we had drag strips to go to and legally race but developers with the approval of cities in the counties say yes let's build condos and houses so we can collect massive amounts of property tax rather than have racetracks.
At the end of the day, those trouble makers own the bridge, but it’s Cali’s fault. These people wouldn’t be doing this if law enforcement was allowed to enforce. Take their cars away from them. Enforce the laws if there’s anything left to enforce. 🤣

Screw this pointless bridge , money should have gone to address the homeless situation in the city and instead city council spent money on this bs structure.
Violations must be severe. SEVERE and people will get the point. If the police open the bridge they should post up a few blocks away. When all the violators show up close the bridge. Arrest everyone who is committing a crime. Takeaway their vehicles for good. Ban them from getting a license for 5 years. SEVERE PENALTIES
It's an indicator of how, as a state, they have removed all personal responsibility. A few people not acting right on the bridge? SHUT IT DOWN FOR EVERYONE.
I understand not letting cars go across but what's the problem with the people? You have police officers on both ends of the bridge so if someone decides to do something stupid they have to walk off the bridge from one way or the other way unless they jump. I think it's ridiculous to have to close a bridge because you cannot stop people from misbehaving. All that is proven that the criminals are absolutely winning in California. Every minute that bridge is closed the criminals win a little bit more.
