I'm from a little unknown county in Southeast Asia, at one point in my life wanted so badly to be in the police force in my country, tried it twice and failed to get through the application, am pretty much set in stone in corporate now, for better financial future. At the end of the day, public service here does not pay very well and can be very taxing. But officer Wong is such a badass person that I could very easily mistaken him for my father, not only having a lot of similarities in terms of personality with my father, but physically also look very similar to him. We're ethnically Chinese as well, 3rd generation for my father and me being 4th generation Chinese immigrants after my great grandfather immigrated from Guangdong in the 30s. My grandparents were very poor when they're younger, gave birth to my father in the 60s, being the eldest in his 7 siblings my father demonstrated a very commanding personality much like officer Wong when leading his team through tough situations. My father would be the one who make decisions, in the family, also in his workplace, I remember growing up having to follow a lot of his orders to do things, I've always had a gripe about his commanding style, but in hindsight, the orders from him provided me a sense of security in ambiguous situation. Gave the family a sense of comfort and security by having his leadership and direction. Having grew up dirt poor, he worked hard all his life, for everything he does, he would roll up his sleeves and get down and dirty, worked his way up as a technician in factory to be leading sizable teams in multiple companies later in his career, only ever worked in American manufacturing companies/plants since the 90s where American companies employ majority of the working population in where I live. He never appeared to me as the smartest person either, but he had a lot of friends, have always been able to make us laugh by telling jokes with the family, my younger sister is much like him with his sense of humour whereas I'm the squarer minded child of his. I fared much better growing up thanks to the hard work my father put in, never really experience poverty, not even feeling the slightest that we're poor all my life. We're by no means wealthy but life have been comfortable when I was growing up. Only now that I'm working that I kind of understand and got a glimpse how it's like to be an average salary man, the amount of hard work needed to be put in to have a comfortable life. I can only be grateful for his sacrifices for giving me such good life. I'm very thankful to have come across this series of videos, looking at officer Wong I'm not just reminded of my father, but it's as if I'm looking at my father, only that officer Wilson is an American person with his American accented English. I'm grateful that my father is still healthy in his mid 50s, and I wish that to last for as long as possible. I may not be American, but officer Wong, you make me proud of my chinese heritage.

Hi Sir, the reasons that I am watching your channels are because I am studying English, covering topics such as law and order, us and customs to leisure (advanced level), back home, and from time to time in classrooms with my classmates of European descent and African descent. Practically, English and French have been useful for travelling and daily lifes. Besides learning with these mates, I wish to be proficient and to be of assistance, of course, for ethical governance. Since you are the leading unit of a country, together with coordination with other units of officers and even for international relationships I wish to get some reliable recommendations to comply with the 'minimum' standards. Besides paperwork such like working contract, apprenticeship contract, working permits and so forth. My experiences are academic, training on the job for public administration and human resources. (public finance department). A lot of paperwork. From time to time volunteering, providing helping hands. Then, there has have huge changes among the labor markets. Semi-industrialisations, job cuts, highly qualified jobs and priotisations for youth. Of course, to cope up with these changes, I cope up home with 'self studies'. Thank you for your documentaries and experiences. Kind regards, Ming

What does the 3+1 mean ?
@TS-tm2pi
@TS-tm2pi Год назад
3+1 in this context refers to his specific rank. All of the officers in LAPD SWAT are the rank of Police Officer 3 (senior officer) the element leaders in SWAT have an additional rank of Police Officer 3+1. LAPD SWAT has 60 officers 12 of those 60 are element leaders

The level of professionalism and integrity of all these Law enforcement Special Operations Units has really stepped up since 9/11. Regardless of Department size. Mutual agency aide is one of the main reasons. That covers any gaps or issues. Just my 0.2.
@Justin_GFM
@Justin_GFM 4 года назад
K Will Its not well documented because the nation’s first SWAT team belongs to a Philadelphia police department who made it back in 1964, LAPD SWAT was made three years later. NYPD ESU was formed in 1930. They probably started doing SWAT duties around the 1970s and 80s because eventually, the A-Team was created in 1989 as a full time unit to take up some of the load from the other teams. I don’t know what being in New York has to do with anything when you’re wrong lol
@cctrans29
@cctrans29 4 года назад
@@Justin_GFM "Probably doing SWAT around 70 or 80s." Right that sounds accurate. ESU was doing SWAT tactical work since before it was called SWAT. Hostage jobs , bank jobs ,suicide jumpers etc. I think you better do more research...
@Justin_GFM
@Justin_GFM Год назад
@@cctrans29 There’s zero chance that NYPD ESU was doing the type of work that LAPD SWAT was doing in between 1930 to the 1960s. From what I’ve seen and read, LAPD SWAT were absolutely the pioneers and set the trend for tactical police units in the US and NYPD ESU would just happen to tack on that capability alongside their rescue duties
