It would be great if you could compare it to the Acer Predator Helios 16/Neo 16 Should one go for higher specs with Acer or better basics and experience with Lenovo Also it would be great if you could share about RAM upgrade as the Helios laptop accepts RAM modules of SK Hynix only
benchmarked my legion having a 13th intel 17 with the rtx 4060 but found that they are a few points below the benchmarked score shown in the video. around 1000-2000 points off. Is that bad?
the 5 models only provide the GPUs up to 4070 when the 7 models provide the very top tier GPU (4080,4090), and also the 7 has an aluminum shell and a per-key RGB keyboard
No touch or pen support unfortunately Nowhere near the best for artist/graphic design Asus Flow X16 is still the best hand down Microsoft will launch a Surface Laptop Studio 2 will 6 or 8 cores CPU and 4060 hopefully this October, better to keep an eye on that one too
My friend bought lenovo six months ago and the only plus of this laptop is that in winter it wasnt necessary to spend money on heating the room(because it just terribly overheated) I'd rather stay with my Dream Machine RG4050
I managed to get asus zephyrus G15 with 4K 120hz display, 6800HS, 32 gb ram, and rtx 3080 for just 1 250 while normal price was 2300 $. Absolute steal of a deal!
I have the previouse version and i love it. I wish they added an sd card reader to but its not such a big deal. My advice , dont ever change the thermal pads and paste
In most laptops you don't need to change thermal paste unless it starts giving you issues like turning off due to heat etc etc. most of the times air blowing a laptop is more than enough.
Gaming laptops be lookin hella corny to me. Sorta like props for a sci-fi movie lol. Legion laptops may be dope, but I much prefer the muted design of this year's Asus Vivobooks / Zenbooks / Studiobooks. Tight video tho!
legion slim 7/7i definitely is better at passing as a productivity laptop. i have one and it looks so clean. only way you can tell it's a gaming laptop is if you know the legion name on the back, but even then it just looks so sleek.
My only, ONLY, gripe with this thing is the ditching of the aluminium compared to previous years' models. It just adds such a silky, premium look and feel. Granted, the laptop does feel lighter as a result.
hellooo im new to gaming laptops and just have a quick question.... with it being mostly plastic, is there any way it could warp overtime from the heat?
Various outlets show the overall performance between the 7745HX and i7 13700H that the 7745HX is better "overall" with its improved 5nm process and strong single thread performance and high clock speeds.
I know this is for the legion 5 but I just managed to get a legion slim 7 with the Ryzen 9 6900hx and the rx 6800s on sale for 1350. It’s been an amazing experience the first few days. I primarily am going to use this for 3D modeling in solidworks for my aerospace engineering undergraduate. Thank you for your comprehensive content.
Thanks for the video. I’m debating between the legion 5i, and 5i pro. I edit videos, nothing too heavy. What’s most important to me is the coolness and noise. Which will in general run cooler and less noisy? I’m just not sure I need the stronger pro specs
How is the Legion Pro 5 outperforming the Pro 7?? ...and what in the world is different w/ the MSI Titan to allow it such a commanding lead in Blender? WHOA!!
Well the MSI Titan is for sure a beefier chassis, that's running its fans in to oblivion. Every time someone rocks up to the shop with MSI the problem is dead fans. I know it before they even tell me. They only have 2-3 years of life in them.
None that I've experienced so far. I have quite a few gaming hours on it now. Hogwarts legacy might be the most demanding one that's been played on it so far. Also played monster hunter world, last epoch, outriders, and a few random games
hey Ben, please make a head to head comparision between the legion 5i pro(i7 12700h) and legion pro 5i (i7 13700h) these 2 laptops are some of the great laptops for editing and modeling.😃
I want an rtx 4070 laptop and i like legions and im looking at the 2024 pro 5i and 7i with similar specs i can get the pro for 143 dollars cheaper in its rtx 4070 than legion 7i with the rtx 4070. Should i buy the pro 5i or 7i
Not showing actually tests , like playback on a timeline, adding effects and etc. Nobody cares about synthetic tests , or slightly better export time. With 4k 60/120 fps 10bit h264/265 4:2:2 this laptop sucks even using Nvidia Gpu, that’s so bad.
💥 Check out the price or make a purchase of the 💻 Lenovo Legion Pro 5 here - geni.us/LegionPro5Gen8 Purchasing through the link will support my channel with a small commission. Thanks in advance.
You are over halfway through the video before you identify the processor .... and I quit at that point because I was looking for the version with the Intel Core i7-12700H
Waiting on my 5i pro rn cant wait ive been running a acer nitro 5 2020 for 3 years and its running alright but cant compete with the games i wanna play lol
how is the battery on this? i have one and it feels like it was made only to be plugged in its so frustrating im disappointed. it lasts me less than 2 hours with minimal workload!!
This is laptop is meant to be plugged in the whole time. It uses a lot of power. I mainly use it for gaming, definitely not a school or work laptop for you to carry out from home.
it is overpriced here in Europe. I favored it but realized it is not worth it. That price range better get an m2max, much more powerful both CPU and GPU
@@BenGKaiser What about performance? Which is better for content creation? fan noise? I7 has 14 cores the strix scar has 24 cores. I want to focus on content creation with some gaming. I will not be carrying it around. I just need a performer. Or probably build a 4090 pc with a budget under $4500. I'm just so confused! What would you recommend. Thank you so much for your input.
Hi Ben, I am using Acer predator helios 300 i7 2022. I have no plans to update at this time. If I upgrade, I will definitely upgrade to Lenovo. But the predator is also a powerful and real loud monster.
