0:00 Replacing a screen for a Dell Latitude E5440
0:07 Step 1: Remove the LCD bezel.
1:02 Step 2: Remove the six screws holding the screen in place.
1:48 Step 3: Remove the LCD cable.
2:13 Step 4: Insert the LCD cable into the new screen and correctly position the screen into the LCD assembly.
3:29 Step 5: Replace the screws.
4:03 Step 6: Replace the LCD bezel.
4:33 Test that everything works. Note that there is nothing wrong with my installation; I dual boot Linux and Windows, so it is different than if you run only Windows. You know you did it right if the screen turns on at all, and without any distortion (e.g. from a loose LCD cable).
