Just got a whole T60 home from ebay for less than a display. It's 5 better parts for my other one, but I can't skip this screen replacement step forever with the last one getting worse.

Around 6 years old. It had the IPS screen and I installed a new IPS screen, very happy with it.

Hi, I have issue with TN screen. the backlight led is flickering when brightness is not set at maximum level. It's not much visible with eye but on camera. I noticed some other thinkpads like x230 or t420 has the same issue. Do you met with this issue or know a reason or maybe you know how to fix it?

You don't need to remove the two hinge screws to replace the screen, unnecessary.

That's what I thought. I never had x220, but I replaced TN panel with IPS on x230, which I think are very similar if not exactly the same screen wise. X230 was simplest screen replacement ever and I did quite a few in various ThinkPads from R60 to T540p. I don't recall unscrewing the hinges, after taking of the bazel, only 4 screws that were holding display to the lid.
