Ami Kaeding Hey! We have two walk in closets in our master and I dedicated one of those closets to our girls clothes. I have a video on it, in case you are interested! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WqYjiMsjlNI.html
Fields Full House i just watched it. It was kinda funny after just asking that question and almost immediately watching the video on it, it almost felt like you were talking to me in the video ^_^
Fields Full House I think it was mostly at the beginning where you were looking at the camera, which from my view is looking at me, and then answering the exact thing I’d asked ^_^
@@FieldsFullHouse isn’t that inconvenient for you to have the girls in and out of your room and them to have to keep going into your room every time they need something?
Your house looks so live. I don't even know how to explain this. I love the fact you showed it just the way it is, without specially preparing it... Jessica kids room look amazing...
I agree. It's refreshing seeing a mom on RU-vid who is happy enough with her family that she isn't afraid to show what REAL LIFE looks like! Especially a mom with even more kids than myself (we have 6). Beautiful!
I grew up in a family of 12 kids. We were always had 3 kids per room. There was 6 boys and 6 girls. We had 1 full size bed per room until we hit high school. It worked and we appreciated things more. We have 7 children ourselves (5 girls and 2 boys). We have a 6 bedroom 3 bath house and our kids won't sleep in their own rooms. We have 1 kid that needs her own room and 1 that wants her own but they end up sleeping in each others room.
Due to health issues, I was unable to even adopt. I was so hoping to have a large family especially when I see lovely mothers who have such love and patience!♥️
It took me 13 years to have my first live birth and then had two more fraught after but with so much fear the whole time . I’m sad when I see big families and wish I could have one more! I’m scared to risk it and lose another baby or cause anymore health problems for myself. I just felt like commiserating with you ( even though I was able to have a few so it’s not the same)
My unmarried daughter is the BEST AUNTY EVER, a great neighbour, faithful and generous friend, dedicated volunteer worker and loving daughter, and a pious Godmother, too. She’s also an artist, cat lover and a licensed nurse. With health problems galore. Being a mother is not the only path to Heaven. God is good.
I love how you can see the personalities of each of the children in their shared bedrooms, especially round the desk areas. And I think it's a super neat idea to use the closets not for clothes! It is a practical solution, and gives the rooms real charm. I love too how the rooms have a really happy vibe. They're full of life and energy. Like the children! I'm a new subscriber, so, hello to you all from Ireland. ☘️
Its funny, we are also nine kids (10th in coming) and we are 6girls and 3 boys just like your family.. didnt think anyone was has crazy as my parents lol ahahah 💕😂
Yay, one bed per kid! Haha, there's always room for one more. The triple bunks are cool! The most squished we ever were was 5 girls in one bedroom--a bunk bed and a bunk bed with a trundle underneath was how we made it work. We have ceiling fans, though, so the kid in the top bed had to be really careful when they woke up...only slightly dangerous, ha!
I just stumbled across your page and this video on my homepage. I have always been intrigued with how big families work. My question would be; why don’t you put the older 3 girls together since they are all back to back in age and then the 3 younger girls together? I also went and watched your gender reveal of your 10th child which is another little girl. Congratulations!! Looks like there needs to be a big girls room and little girls room. Lol
We do need a bigger girls room! I would love that one day! So we had it set up this way because this is how the girls wanted it. They wanted their little sisters in the room with them. And actually argued over who got the new baby! Lol! We had it set up this way for about 3 years. With that said we are changing things around and the older girls will be together. I have a vlog on that top named Project Reveal if you’d like to check that out!
When I shared a room with my two sisters we had a triple bunk bed but the bottom and top beds were aligned and the middle bed stuck out a different way.
I admit it - I am nosey! I love seeing people 's homes and what they buy cook decorate etc. Thank you for allowing me in your home for a video tour. Jackson is your mini Me - he has your beautiful face. I can feel the love in the home through my tablet 💕 Stay safe and well 😷
I love the REALity in this video☺️💕 just found you today and oh my van I relate so much with how to make everyone fit ☺️ Glad I found your page good job momma!!
Hi I think you did a great job personalizing the kids spaces. Im a momma to 8 and we have a 6 bedroom victorian and we have the kids separated strangely. The two oldest boys 18 and 16 have their own rooms. 15 and 9 year old girls share. 12 year old girl has her own and three youngest boys share. And everyone is happy😊. Thanks for sharing .
Like your video, having big family is very good, challenge but worthy. Raising a big family is like raising a society. When you eat together is like you are in a restaurant, watching movies like you went to cinema, washing clothes like you are in a laundry, pray together like you are in a prayer group, when they are studying it's like a school club etc. There always someone birthday each month. Is any large family annual meeting out there so people like us could meet? Would be great isn't?
My old friend has over 8 kids in a 3 bed room. She needs a 9 bed room at least! There's only 3 of us and we all have our own rooms, period... but its all about how you use it n you did a wonderful job. Your a pretty incredible mom:)
The triple bunk is really cool. It is really neat that you were able to give them their own spaces by then having a desk each. I love the setup you have going on.
*Blessed!* You have made everything work so well! Love the triple bunks! We went with trundle beds in our girls room instead of bunks, because we had the room to pull them out and helps to keep it feeling more spacious...since we have 5 girls in one room. (Soon to be 6 when the baby is older! :) )
Love the setup. We are only excepting #6 and get that same question all the time lol. We have 4 bedroom so 2 kids to a room is definitely doable. I think people just dont think it through before asking or think of bedrooms in a very American way ( not sharing ). You have a beautiful home!❤
Thank you! I think a lot of people don’t think either! Lol! Or some think kids deserve their own rooms and wouldn’t want to share. Our kids enjoy sharing a room. At least so far! Lol
I have 4 kids. My second son wants them all to be in one room together 😆😆. Hes actually a big loner. He likes to play alone, but he hates to BE alone. So when he asks for them to all be in the same room.. he's soo serious. Lol.
As a mother of 8 I love this - we also live in a small home. Only thing that would make me crazy maybe it’s my type A personality is the clutter but it is set up very nice. I love the triple bunks !
Thank you! The clutter drives me nuts too! I try and let the kids have some freedom in their rooms. BC I need the rest of the house clean! Lol! And I’m all about real life!
Love the triple bunks! We almost got one when we were expecting our 3rd and in our previous 2 bedroom little home but then we ended up moving. My oldest really wants to share a room with her younger sis too-it’ is the bigger room though.
I would feel like I was sleeping in a coffin with that little head room. Impossible to make as well or clean up after. Have you considered a regular bunk bed with trundle under that could be pulled out night? Moving the desks out of the room and adding another bunk bed to fit four kids if needed? You never know..
Of course we have tried different beds. I mentioned that in the video. Our daughter really wanted a desk. And she was happy to have room for it. Two bunk beds will not fit in that room. Honestly we were worried she wouldn’t like it up there bc of the lack of head room and told her to let us know if it bothered her. So far she says it’s fine. :) but we are actually getting ready to switch things around anyway. Oh and my husband changes the sheets... he’s got longer arms ;) and he makes it look easy to keep clean!
Wow, I've never seen a triple bunk bed! I have 3 boys in one room, but we have a regular twin bed and then a bunk bed. There would be way more floor space if we had a triple bunk. Unfortunately our ceiling in that room is lower than a normal ceiling, so we wouldn't be able to do it, even if I had known about triple bunks earlier. How fun, though! I love how my sons talk to each other as they fall asleep--much better than having separate rooms, even if we were rich!
We raised four boys in a 3 bedroom 1400 sq ft house ( with no garage) and I thought that was tight. :) But you guys have done a good job making good use of space.
Laura Lea Frederick thank you! We all make due with what we have. I think that speaks higher volume than getting into a bigger house just for the sake of it. ❤️
Just had to tell you! Your video inspired me to go and rearrange a bunch of things in my little boys' room so they have more space. We all love it, and it made a huge difference! Thank you so much for sharing this ❤
I’m number 10 of 11 kids. We always had a 1200 sq foot. 3 bedrooms and 2 bath. Never was a problem for us. 8 boys and three girls. I only had 2 kids and we still had three bedrooms and two bathrooms.😂
Thank you for sharing! My husband and I sleep in our smallest room and our 6 children sleep in the master bedroom. Instead of traditional bunk beds, we have 3 sets of "Kid-O-Bunk" beds which are shorter in height and take up less floor space. Just another possibility for people to consider!
It's different for each family depending on their individual dynamic. One good example of this was shown on Extreme Makeover Home Edition (2003-12). I can recall how some people would complain about how big the homes they built were, and looking back I can't help but laugh because the answer was very obvious. Of the 204 single family homes built or remodeled for the show, 86 were designed for families of at least 6 people, equalling double the average US household, with the largest being a family of 15. Sometimes all the kids got their own rooms, while other times the children would share new bedrooms. The designers took a very wide variety of factors beyond age and gender, such as special needs, family circumstances and of course the chemistry of the children's relationship with each other.
Pennies And Salt they disassemble! As far as easy I don’t know bc we haven’t done it lol! We were in the process of moving when they built them... so they made sure it could be taken apart.
We are a blended family with 7 and so far I’ve learned that the boys especially like to share a room and all 4 wouldn’t care about sharing but my girls are 10, 2, and 4 months and we have a triple bunk as well the boys are 9, 7, 6, and 1
I'm a sibling of 8 but we have about 6 bedrooms (one is the master) but we were always switching rooms around I got my own room in about 3rd or 4th grade after sharing with one of my sisters for a long time I've been in about half of the rooms in the house
I hated sharing a room with my little sister. We were constantly fighting xD when we got our own rooms when I was 10? we couldn't wait. We started sleeping in our own room before it even had a proper floor or walls xD mattress put on concrete floor no furniture, rooms were still a construction site xD it was awesome. That said, there are people who like sharing rooms. I was never one of them, my sister neither. Even though our bedroom was like twice the size of these kids rooms. We would always argue about what story to listen to in the evening. We never managed to be civil about it. :D
Nice to meet you! Great question! My husband changes them. The kids on the very top are old enough to do it themselves. If they need help my husband assists them. Even when we had normal beds, the sheets is something my husband has always done. 😊
So cool seeing how you make it work! I love the triple bunks. My husband custom built a bunk for two of our boys. I think we are going to go with a trundle and a toddler bed now that we are moving our fourth son into the room from our room. Eventually he'll add another bunk or we will figure out some other configuration. Our two girls share a room.
Have you considered switching your bedroom for the girls room? Since adults only use the bedroom for sleep , we just dont need any space. The girls need the space to study and play and to have some privacy. I raised my kids in an apartment. I made the largest room the actual living room into the kids room. Then my husband and I took the smallest bedroom and made the larger bedroom into our living room. It worked out so well. There was a large coat closet in the traditional living room so my girls had a huge closet. The bedroom made an intimate tv room that we really liked using it was nice to have a door thinking outside of the box is neccesary sometimes
I noticed you had the Anne of Green Gables series behind you. I have the same set. I had to order a new one because the first set my grandma got me as a girl wore out. Love, love Anne.
I came from a family of 9 kids and we had the same ratio of boys vs girls. We had a boys room and two girls rooms as well. We had 3 bunk beds one in each room. The only difference is we had two -full on the bottom twin on the top- bunk beds. In the big girls room we had a single bunk bed. And in the little girls room there was a toddler bed for the youngest. Which worked well because just when she needed a bigger bed, was right when the first kid moved out.
I think one bed bunk in each room with desk underneath or storage is way better than 3 bunks as it’s too tight mainly the middle one.. by all mean roof space is always waisted might as well be for sleep and the rest to be used or left empty.. 9” sealing rooms would be the match in heaven for those kind of beds
