In this video, you will see a seawall that was built by some carpenters that really did not have experience in building Seawalls and retaining walls. The Walls are built very strongly, but just not installed with a proper tieback system, which caused the wall to ultimately fail.

Great work DMC crew! Too bad the previous contractor did such a crappy job. At least the home owner knows it's getting done right now!

Thanks Stephen they built a very strong wall. Just didn’t do it correctly with a tieback system. That’s why it really pays to know your contractor and know that your contractor knows how to do the job correctly.

That old wall was an unholy mess. The new one is looking great. The last piece was a bear going in.

This is the first time I saw your channel If you cut the bottom of the panel off an inch or 2 so you don't have to start both sides at the same time. If your allowed use some dawn dish soap on the tight panel to get it started

Thanks for your comment Tom I believe you’re correct I talk to the neighbor and I believe his father or father-in-law. I’m not sure had his employees build it.

Waler is too small for that length, no Deadman, incorrect capping. Bad choice of wall material

Well I have a mess. Seawall and no tiebacks, rotted wood. Buld behind the old seawall?

Thanks for watching my page that does sound like a mess and we have been in that situation several times where there’s actually like three walls behind the wall that we’re trying to replace. Really depends on the circumstance in a situation as far as where you want your new wall to be at a lot of times it is easier to go behind all of the old walls, but then you lose property, good luck with your project

Random questions just bought a home on a canal in So Flo and been watching all your videos. A. How you guys keep that barge from moving when you’re hammering the piles in? I am not a boat guy so have no idea. B. Do you guys hammer to pressure like a screw pile or just a depth? I’m a GC and couldn’t imagine putting piles in water in just such a different world. Love the channel thanks.

Thanks Gareth for watching my channel. I appreciate it. I have a 1100 lb 20 foot half inch wall 10 inch steel pipe. They dropped two holes in my barge and they were called spuds that keeps me in place. I pick them up and pin them when I need to move. As far as the depth of the pilings, I typically try to go a minimum of 8 -10 foot in the sand. It really depends on soil conditions. I do a combination of vibrating to poles in place and water jetting when needed.

Thanks for your comment and respond. Yes I absolutely can but we choose to only stay 50 miles in our area. We have plenty of work to do here. 👍
