Call Lazydays Knoxville on a Wednesday to put a deposit on an Rv. And told the salesman an rv inspector would be there on Thursday to inspect it. And he told me that as of Monday they no longer allowed outside rv inspectors. I said, Thank you very much ! I will not purchase an rv without one. And they lost a sale.

Bought a used C-Class Jayco 31 from a south Baltimore dealer, paid cash. 2018 Ford 450 Super Duty chassis, 2019 ‘house’. LOVE IT! Horrible dealer. Horrible service dept. Salesman lied about stupid stuff, misrepresented the warranty. Great rig, use it A LOT. Just crossed 50K miles. I don't know which is more insane. RV manufacturers that build coaches with spit and staples or buyers who think that an RV is a wise purchase. Until RV builders learn how to construct an enclosure that won't come apart in 6 months, they will always be in court fighting buyers who claim they bought a pig in a poke. If your that hell bent on getting an RV....rent one first, that should help cool your jets.

I would love to buy a 45' diesel pusher production coach and can well afford it; current market conditions are not a concern. My issue is that I don't trust the entire industry from dealers, manufactures to parts suppliers. I have watched the horror stories of camping world (Dealer), Lippert (Parts suppler), grand design (manufacturer) and so on and have come to the concussion that these companies collectively are on the same path of customer last, once you purchase and hand over the payment then you are on your own. If I am going to spend nearly a million dollars, I want to know that everyone involved has my back and until have that assurance I will book my travel at resorts where I know for certain they do! Seems the resort industry and RV industry has been on opposite paths for years; the resort industry cares about the user experience and the RV industry could care less. Just my opinion from what I see.

Super common story with a lot of the big mega-dealer chains that buy out the family stores. It takes 2-3 years until everybody competent, and or ethical, has enough of the horror, and finds a job somewhere else. By then it's just a shell of what the place once was, and run by a corporation who is only concerned with their real mission statement, which is, "Who can we screw, out of what, and how much can we get?"

I canceled plans to purchase after watching RU-vid videos opening up my eyes to the poor build quality control and the reports of bad treatment by dealers once they push you to take delivery and drive off the lot. What good is an RV that must spend weeks/months at the dealership for remediation. I wanted a 23 or 25 foot Airstream and learned that they are now owned by Thor and quality has taken a dump as a result. I'm retired now and had dreams of exploring America. I even purchased an SUV with 8700 pound tow rating in anticipation only to be sobered by so many RU-vid videos testifying to issues with customer dissatisfaction. Whereas my dream is dashed, I'm grateful for the honesty and candor of others who took their time to share their horror stories via the internet so that the rest of us would not fall victim to the shady industry from manufacturers to dealership chains.

It isn’t exactly breaking news that Thor owns Airstream. Thor has been owned Airstream for over 40 years. Airstream is the company that launched Thor. Just remember that negativity sells on RU-vid. Don’t believe all the negative hype. There are plenty of good quality RV’s on the market.

You can tow a boat or jet skis or whatever you want behind your truck and still have the comfort of a camper. Hi guys, thanks for the reminder to check if I was still subscribed.... I actually had been unsubscribed somehow. 1) I would definitely be interested to hear what steps the manufacturers are taking to ensure they are selling their RVs to reputable dealers. Because this is definitely not happening. 2) Also, when there are so many unreputable dealers out there now, are the RV manufacturers going to take steps to sell them direct from the factory/manufacturer? That would certainly help mitigate losses due to buyers not wanting to put up with the unreputable dealers. I personally found one unreputable dealer recently in NH when I had attempted to walk through what I thought was the Brand and Model RV I wanted to purchase. I even called in advance and the salesperson with whom I had previously coordinated a day/time, didn't know where the RV was on the lot when I got there, and didn't have it pulled out of its spot so all of the slides could be opened! He didn't seem all that concerned that he wasn't prepared (this was almost a $200k RV)! I left with absolutely no interest in returning! 3) Even the newer, significantly more expensive brands are experiencing quality issues (the Brinkley Model G 3500 was the RV I thought I wanted to buy - but am now having second thoughts as a result of my experience at that particular dealer (and also saw a few quality issues just stepping in the RV even though the slides could not be completely extended). What will it take for the RV manufacturers to wake up and start fixing their quality issues? Their losses will continue to grow as buyers' and owners' experiences continue to be communicated to the public (thank goodness for that communication - I have really learned a lot)! I still want to sell my house and purchase an RV to work remotely, travel and enjoy new experiences before I retire. I'm sincerely hoping that I either win the lottery so I can work directly with a custom RV manufacturer, or can just afford to buy an RV regardless of the issues, or the RV industry finally wakes up and smells the coffee and starts building quality RVs again! 🤞🤞🤞

I applied at Lazy Days and was told by some 20 something year old hr person that I would be expected to work 7 days a week. I remember when Wallace ran the place and it was #1 in the country. I once owned an RV, a 5th-wheel toy hauler that could best be described as a rolling trash bin. I bought it "new" from a dealer in 2008 and it was heavily discounted, I assume due to the ongoing financial crisis. I paid cash, I am a boomer and learned not to finance toys. Of course, I also bought a dully diesel, a Ford F-350, to tow it. The build quality of this Thor trailer was so bad that things started breaking inside a month. The dealer was no help, I was now the enemy. Overall, a horrible experience. I parked the trash bin and waited out the market until 2013 and finally sold it, Nowadays I ride my Honda Gold Wing and stay in 2-3 star (Super 8, Hampton, etc.) hotels. The hot water is plentiful, I get forty mpg instead of six. Honda dealers honor the warranty w/o discussion, not that you ever need it. As I explore our big country, I see field after field of towable RV's and sometimes even motorhomes and i always wonder why? Why so many unsold units and who floorplans (finances) these units? For me, never, ever, again.

So inflation high, interest rates high, quality dropping, coupled with questionable sales practices people stay away in droves. My self included.

The item is the vehicles, trucks are so expensive just themselves then you add the RV. I was looking at a truck camper thinking it seems there would be less things to break or need fixing all the time. I would love a class A but then you have to pull a vehicle which is just something that can go wrong. Just don't no at the point. Want dealer ship can you trust.

You two are a great couple, this is why I and my wife, watch your exploits as we are campers also, just on a permanent site. And yes, at your age, we used to travel all over the country! To you 2 lovely people---------------->what you are seeing is caused by multiple inputs. People who pay attention and themselves RV see the prices, the quality, and say no. They see the price of fuel and cringe. And then they see the price of camping unless they own their own lot. Travel is a joke for the middle class as far as RVing. When you travel on the road and either get happy at 70 bucks a night, or stay at a Flying J or comparable, you have to asses what you are doing. The RV industry as whole, has priced themselves out of the market, and with the quality issues, everyone laughs. Let me tell you Izzy and MJ------------>I have a permanent site in a Yogi. I have neighbors all around on basically 5 sides, and only 1 of them says that they will buy another RV when theirs dies. The rest of us hope we can sell our lots; and if people are dizzy enough to buy in to this industry, maybe at a profit.........but if not, we got our use. Just for your information, 4 of us as couples are middle class, 1 is kinda wealthy, and the couple who is financially challenged; well they are the ones who would buy again. Tells you who they are pandering to, doesn't it!

I would have gladly bought a class B when I first began planning to become a nomad last year. After seeing truly countless videos on what an absolute dumpster fire the RV industry has become, I decided to do my own conversion. I’m a woman in her fifties and it’s going to take me awhile, but no way was I buying a $150K van that had random holes in the roof totally unpatched and hidden under the AC shroud, cabinets falling off the wall on the drive home from the dealer, etc. Not saying I’ll do everything perfect myself, but at least I won’t be spending a mountain of money for the supposed privilege of buying junk slapped together by apparent chimps using cardboard and duct tape that waits six weeks for repairs at the dealer.

My wife and I were truly in the market and planned to purchase Q1 of this year. After visiting numerous dealers, we simply had to walk away and make other plans. Until quality of build changes significantly, I believe it's silly to sink one dollar into anything so poorly made. As a proud American, it's a shame to see the lack of pride being put into these products. HORRENDOUS items and i'm a bit frustrated with everyone saying "that's just part of RV'ing". Really, accepting poor quality, poor service, constantly breaking items shouldn't be "part of anything". How about, let's do better. If a consumer accepts inferior cheap products, that's what manufacturers will make. I sure hope we're at a point where the RV industry is waking up and trying to improve. Rant over....

Lol, Izzy, "clowns"! I love the sound of sleeping, snoring pups, what's more heartwarming than that! Shocking but not surprising. RV prices have increased dramatically over the past few years, interest rates are much higher, and the widely publicized lack of quality all conspire to impact sales. I have to imagine Lazy Days isn't alone, that the other big chains will be reporting similar losses (CW?). It's the smaller mom and pop RV dealers that I worry most about, the big chains may have the financial wherewithal to survive an economic downturn, the smaller dealers maybe not so much. We could see a consolidation of dealerships, which may not be good for the consumer. And if the RV pipeline is experiencing a slowdown, manufacturers must also be impacted. Hard times for the RV industry, but for all goods that are dependent on disposable income. Looking forward to your videos on the Music City Expo!

It is truly interesting that just back three to four years ago when COVID was upon us, people still wanted to go on vacation. Since hotel rooms were questionable, RV's made it the choice of many. Us veteran RVers at the time were worried about finding camping reservations due to the influx of new RVers entering into the arena. Some of us knew though that a good portion of this new influx would quickly realize RVing is a lot of work. Most people going on vacation want to pack a suitcase, get a ride to the airport, hop on a plane, rent a car and veg out at a hotel pool with full service. Rving is certainly not that. RV Sales and shipments had to be affected after COVID was over and people wanted to have a carefree vacation without work.

People are not going to buy junk for prices based on pure greed. Half a million for a unit that you then have to send right to the shop for massive repairs... Nope people will buy old busses and and used rigs. Some will build there own rigs before they drop that much money on trash.
