I live in Orlando and we fly down quite often and spend about two or three nights just to get away....we always wait ....of course....for a special deal. The resort is great....the place is huge and a lot of walking is required. The dining is varied...we love Mesa Grill....Bobby Flay's place....the rest are ok....nothing special. We go and have tons of fun. Have a Merry Christmas....tonight is Christmas here.... Thanks for your videos. They are mostly good.
I am a travel agent always looking for good videos to share. Love yours! They are informative and clever. Thanks for your detailed series. It helps me know how to advise people if I haven’t been on a particular ship. Great job!
Wow Morgan, what a great commentary....very well done. Enjoyed your video very much!!. Hope to cruise on the Harmony in late 2017. I stayed at Atlantis a few times. I wouldn't recommend more than 4 days. I absolutely loved it and still do!! I just get a little bored after a few days due to repetition. However, cruising for me is great and I never get bored. There is so much to do and the entertainment is always amazing on the newer ships. I'll keep an eye out for your other videos. Thanks for posting!
We used to go every Mother's Day for 4-5 night stays and always had a blast at Atlantis. Our kids loved it too! Definitely can't go wrong with vacationing there. I loved your comparisons you made you were spot on;-)
Hey I was at Atlantis for 3 days in 2015...loved the waterpark. The lazy river/not so lazy at points was my favorite. I went around several rounds at a time every day. The staff was even so kind to throw me some sunglasses when I covered my face from the son. I would definitely head back there.
Thanks for this video. My son and I will be in Nassau in the Bahamas and your video has shown me that this would be great for us to book for our excursion Thanks again and Continued success!
I've been to Atlantis a few years ago after enjoying it so much on our Disney Wonder cruise. Unfortunately, it was the week Hurricane Sandy hit the Bahamas, but even when the water park was closed, there was so much to do inside the resort! I would highly recommend.
Atlantis rocks... I have been 3x, twice with my daughter, once with a friend...so much fun....The Cove (adults only) amazing experience. The food is pricey; but I loved the whole experience.
love watching your videos...you're such a big kid when you video yourself and your reactions! I always get a good giggle watching these!....thank you!...
Love your sense of humor, especially on the TV balcony!! Your videos are well put together, informative and fun! Wish I could have a great travel buddy like you!!!
I like to watch your videos about cruises as I have never been in one. I also enjoyed the videos you did in Vegas! One question though, how can you travel so often???
That's some drop on the Atlantis waterslide! You're braver than I am :D Looks amazing though. We were making chocolates in Nassau at the same time you were there. I saw on your last video that some people complain that Nassau is not a great stop, but I think it's definitely possible to tailor your day out there to make it a highly enjoyable one no matter what you're into (or your kids, if you have kids... mine were thoroughly chocolate-covered and had a great day out!). We loved Nassau.
Aw, it's wonderful to see you so happy! And after Atlantis, getting your veggie burrito. That's a fulfilling day. :) Oh and I know what to do with actual lotion, but otherwise, I'm stymied.
If you're looking to save money, there's a Comfort Suites literally across the street from Atlantis and you have full resort privileges, including being able to charge stuff to your room. Oh, and having to walk across the street saved me $120/night.
Glad to see you had a good time at Nassau, I have a few months before looking in to our excursions when we are there and are debating Atlantis, another excursion, or staying on the ship. Oh, and that may be the biggest ship in the world but it isn't the size that matters but the motion of the LOTION... Wow, I can't believe I actually wrote that.
Very unOfficial Travel Guides We stayed in the Royal Towers, it was a Harbour view room. They seemed newly renovated, very spacious rooms and very nice and clean.
Very unOfficial Travel Guides yeah I saw the video, the size is very similar. I remember the bathrooms being pretty spacious. As far as design, it's a lot different. They stuck to the bright colors/Art Deco/Atlantis theme. If I had to compare, the Dubai ones seems a little more modern compared to the Bahamas. Both are very nice though. I'm sure the more upscale towers have more of a modern feel to that.
Just came back from the Harmony of the Seas and I’m watching your videos again just so I can relive the fun we had. I don’t think I watched these before i left but man, we had so much fun and the first video was really how i felt. Enjoying these, wishing my seapass still worked. Haha.
I'm loving the new yellow plates in the Windjammer. They had them mixed in with the old blue plates on the Empress and I just grabbed the yellow plate whenever I saw them. Easier on the eyes. BTW - One of my good friends went on vacation to Atlantis, but they said they would never go back. The resort itself was amazing, they just said the prices of food and drinks was just out of this world. Go when they have the all inclusive package. I've been myself during a cruise and that "aqua" park was bomb. Did however knock over a couple when the wave machine turned on behind us.
Hey..I stayed a week at the Harbourside Resort next to the Atlantis. It was amazing. Everyday we found something new. I'm not one to revisit a resort..but this one I will. It's a must!
Yes, I went on allure of the seas, and I went to Nassau. Our cruise director, said that one side of Nassau is very dangerous. One of my moms friends, (he owns PCL) one of his workers was set up and murdered on that side. Cool video!
Nassau, I rented a private "boat", a dingy really, right at the dock. Had a great time. As I recall, $30.00 for a 6 hour day on the H20. Sweeeeeet day. The water there is so dirty though. You can only see about 60 to 70 feet down. beyond that the bottom becomes fuzzy.
We went to Atlantis and stayed in the royal towers the hotel was amazing but getting to wake up and see the leap of faith every day was even better the water slides are amazing even if I only went on a few because I was seven but we're going to the same cruise in 33 days so I'm excited but if there is anything else i need to know I bet I can find it in one of your videos
I've stayed at atlantis many times, and I've never been disappointed!! i LOVE going to the aquarium at night, and then touring around the almost empty grounds. its so calming! p.s if you get a chance to go to Bamboo Shack...DO IT!!! ask for "chicken in da bag". its good ole caribbean junk food lol
Lotion. You didn't sound tipsy at the end. So do you remember how much the Aqua park excision cost? Good to hear there's a good option in Nassau. Another awesome video. Keep em coming!
I didn't do the excursion, I just went there in a taxi. The price of a day pass varies. I was there on one of the most expensive days and it cost $150. I'll talk about the pricing in my upcoming video.
I stayed at the Riu Palace Resort just off the Atlantis grounds. (Your sunglasses are touching the resort @ 5:32). All inclusive there and just a short walk to Atlantis and the casino. Won big at the casino and spent a few days at the Atlantis waterparks with the family. Was very fun and pretty pricey but way worth it.
Goodness you looked tired at the end :) I hope we are able to go back to Atlantis! We had a whole day in Nassau (docked 7am until midnight) and we spend 8 hours total at Atlantis. I should have re-applied sunblock (lotion). I burnt the tops of my feet on the lazy river. Oh well, worth it :D
It is a four day Bahamas cruise on the Monarch of the Seas. Stops were Nassau, Key West and CocoCay. It left out of Miami, so we rented a condo and spend five days wondering around South Beach prior to the cruise.
I sure did! :) I'm a huge Miami fan! The first time we went in 2006, I wasn't comfortable enough to look around. But most cruises offered are 7 days and with flight and travel time, that is too dang short/expensive to not make the most of. We also stayed at the Townhouse which had a pathway by the Ritz Carlton that took you directly to the beach. I liked the 25 cent bus that just goes around South Beach for when your too tired to walk back to the hotel. I loved Lincoln Road Mall... coffee, pastries... air conditioning. We did a boat tour too that took us to a mall area with a Hard Rock Cafe. We been taking longer cruises and out of different ports (last time was Tampa, this January is New Jersey) so, we will have to make plans to go back to Miami next vacation!
Thanks for an awesome video. Going on Harmony in March and was considering an Atlantis excursion to the Dolphin encounter and the water parks. It's $249 per person but you get the parks and the encounter and lunch. Still researching if Iwe should do this.
You looked like you had a real good time at Atlantis. You looked so happy, you could see it on your face. I do have a question regarding the pool they use for the show at night. They dive from quite a height, do you happen to know how deep the pool is?
No, sorry, but I know that if the ship is rocking basically at all, they have to cancel the shows because it becomes too dangerous for the performers! A few shows were cancelled in the week I was onboard.
So did they give you free lotion in your inside cabin? :) I love the idea of the virtual window. We actually loved the inside cabin on the RCL Getaway and a virtual window would be an excellent addition. I wonder if RCL will start adding virtuals as well?
No free lotion! I wonder if they will start adding more and more virtual balconies and portholes. It really was a cool addition and I would not hesitate to book it again if a "real" balcony wasn't in my budget.
Did they check your wristband before you did the slides? Last time I went we got the dolphin thing and then wandered into the park and then the water park, but never bought the water park wristband, but they never said anything. Cause $145 is pricey and we were hoping that maybe nothing has changed and we can try and essentially sneak in again...
My wristband was in plain site, so I never really noticed if people where looking at it or not, know what I mean? It's not like they made me hold my wrist up before every slide, but I couldn't tell you if they looked for it or not.
Ah, they gave us a wristband for the dolphin experience thing, but I don't remember what color it was. I feel like it was blue, but that was years ago. Hopefully the colors aren't different.
Awesome! My fiancé and I are doing this for our honeymoon in the next couple of weeks on the Allure! What type of mount did you use for the camera on the slides? Seems like the staff are okay with you taking cameras down the slides and I want to get some good shots!
We love Atlantis, last time we were there was via NCL Breakaway, did the dolphin swim and spent the rest of the day in the water park, mostly on the not so lazy river ride. But after all that time in the sun I just kept thinking, it rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.
When we stayed at Atlantis in Dubai, I went and rode the slides at Aquaventure almost every day, except for the days we left to do other things. I loved it.
my husband and I looking to go on a cruise when he come back from being over seas we want somewhere that doesn't have alot of kid stuff if you get that? would you recommend harmony of the seas?! thanks!
I have not heard great things about Atlantis from those who have stayed there for a vacation...not my opinion since i have never been, but what i have heard from others. Oh and great vid!
Actually, it IS a 6S! You can change the resolution of your video recordings in the settings. If you choose 1080p with 60fps, it will look like my videos :-P
Did you book through Royal or did you book on your own? We are on the Harmony in May and booked Atlantis through Royal...just wondering if they supplied transportation to and from Atlantis?
I have a great travel agent I always use. He gets me the most amazing deals and I feel like he always knows exactly what I will like. If you want, I can refer you!
Very unOfficial Travel Guides We were just going to hit up some of the shops in the area. We did get to go to a couple of cools ones before we got called back.
Very unOfficial Travel Guides We have two booked, one on Navigator and one on Freedom, both in feb 17. We are not going to Nassau this time, we did Nassau this year on one of our cruises but we didnt go to Atlantis.
*Hum* My reply didn't upload.. We have two cruises coming up in february, first one on Navigator OTS and the second on Freedom OTS. But we won't stop at Nassau on these, we did stop in Nassau during one of our cruises in 2016 but we didn't go to Atlantis. We didn't think that it was warm enough.
Very unOfficial Travel Guides wow! And yes, cruise ships are my favorite place to be! I'm going on my 5th cruise ship in about 10 days on the Adventure of the seas!
Very unOfficial Travel Guides on march 11 I'm flying from Minnesota to Puerto Rico, on march 12 we will we at St. Thomas, on march 13 St. Kitts, march 15 Aruba and march 16 curaçao. We leave on the 18th
Also meant to mention flying in and out is the only negative thing about wanting to stay in Nassau. The airport is a nightmare and you have to have at least 2-3 hrs to go through all the check points. I have been Diana Rossed 3 times and almost missed flight because of their security checks. That was very unpleasant as they passed all of my family through to plane but me. So beware of the airport!
Well, the best of Atlantis ia exactly their waterpark. To stay there for a week is an awkward experience, as it Works like a Vegas hotel, with no meals included, and there are very few and expensive options, not to mention the huge distance to reach them. Plus, the staff is as rude as it gets, Even in “the cove”, the most expensive hotel of the resort, where i stayed.
I spent a week in Atlantis. I would not recommend staying a week because it's just the water park there is nothing else to do and the food is very bad I just went on Allure of the Seas and the food was better there then at the Atlantis
The food wasn't the best. Plus the main dinning room/buffet you have to pay for it is not included in the price unless you buy the dining package. There are also not many activities for adults at night and during the day. As long as your willing to spend a day at each slide then I think you would be fine but if you want to go out and explore then there is not much to do. Also when traveling back you have to be at the airport three hours ahead of scheduled take off. Like I said before you could get better food in the windjammer on Allure or Harmony. The specialty restaurants are also not that good we went to the BBQ place at the Atlantis I ordered the brisket both times I went. The amount of sauce they but on the brisket was overpowering all you could taste was the red sauce they put on it.
Atlantis is wayy over priced...even the water park is $150... that's $40 more than Disney.. Also you count food and everything.. it comes out to $400 a day PP (not counting the water park and gambling)
