Derek Jeter! I watched him in 96 help us win the WS as a kid and grew up idolizing him in NYC. He's a leader, a legend and the Captain. We love you Derek and nobody deserves this more than you! We in NY will always remember you for your on and off the field class. A King of Baseball.
Jeter has been my whole damn life. From the day I was born I watched him in person with tickets in my hand to at home on my couch eating nachos and popcorn. Derek has been literally the player of my childhood. Without him I wouldn’t know what it would mean to be not only a humble human being but being an overall amazing baseball player. He changed the sport of baseball drastically and I cherish him for it every single day. Now he’s a Hall of Famer and my grandma called Jeter her son why because he made her smile so much that she never took it off her face. Derek you brought my family so much pride and joy and I know the Yankee family thanks you as well 💗 Love you DJ3K 💗
@@NatTurnergrandsonChrisdorner yeah he was classy. Except when he was sitting on the bench during the Jeter dive game while the entire team was standing.
Major respect from 3 of the best to the best shortstop in my opinion....i cant stand the yankees but i have all the respect in the world for Derek Jeter
When Ozzie Smith sez;"He is to OUR Position what Tom Brady is to Quarterback Or Bill Russell to Center"... I'm gonna go out on a limb & say Ya musta been pretty Gr8!👍💯
No one better. The Captain stands a little taller than even Ripken in my book and Ripken is my favorite player ever. (I would argue that catcher is the quarterback of baseball though...)
I can't stand the Yankees but the bottom line is that Derek Jeter personifies everything right about baseball. And it doesn't hurt that the first SS he named that he looked up to is my baseball hero Barry Larkin.
