I'm always fascinated by people that become 'famous' at a young age, and then never grow as an artist or musician because what they did as a child/teenager made them lots of money/fame. Intellectually and artistically lazy and unimaginative. I feel the same about Clapton; he learned 'everything he needed to know' by 19 years old, and never grew beyond what made him rich and famous.
