Larry E. Temple served as White House Staff Special Counsel to Lyndon Johnson from 1967-69. He shares his memories of working with President Johnson in the Oval Office in this talk, filmed at the LBJ Library in Austin, Texas.

Fun fact, that is the original desk used by LBJ in the Oval Office. He’s the only President to ever use the desk.

That desk is from the US Senate - they are like old “law partner” desks with drawers and storage on both sides. The top is at least 4x6. Massive.

The device feeding the news isn't a "ticker tape," it's a Teletype. (Ticker tapes are much narrower, and print codes on the tapes that reflect stock prices and such.)
