I watched another review of GR Fish and chips and they basically said the same thing. Not as awesome as one would expect from a Brit. I think he could have created a entirely new flavor profile and knocked its out of the park but he played it safe and made it bland. Thanks Shin

I stay at The Flamingo often & find it easy and convenient to run down to grab a quick takeout of Gordon Ramsey Fish & Chips. Off I go back up to my room where I gorge myself on the boxful of food. Good quick & easy late night snack.

I went back in September and I was 100% pleased with the food. I ended up getting the lobster and shrimp combo, with an added fish piece and the truffle parm chips. I would definitely go again just for the lobster itself.

The fish is supposed to be mild! It's British fish and chips! Typucally Cod or Haddock 90% of theleast. Some shops in the UK do have other fish options such asPlaice or Rock that do have a slightly stronger taste. You are the umpteenth RU-vidr that has covered Gordon Ramsay's Fush and Chips in Las Vegas and this is the only review I've seen that remarked the fish is not fishy enough. Learn something every day! I can't really say I'm any kind of fish and chips expert. It's not something I order at any restaurant when it's available as I just always opt for something else. But as mentioned in the video, I was curious if the milder fish flavor was by design and it seems like it is! Is the batter in the UK equally less seasoned as well? I imagine shops in the UK don't all have the array of sauces they had available at GR's Fish and Chips. Wondering if that's the case also. Thanks for watching and the information!

@@VegaswithShin i am in the US (Canadian Citizen), but worked extensively in the UK and ate enough fush and chips over there to comment. I had to laugh because most people who get fish and chips would be appaled if their fish was fishy! The batter in most f&c shops is like you had. Quite bland, no spices. Usually a choice of Cod or Haddock that are similar tasting. One thing that is offering us that you will mostly pay much less than you did in Las Vegas. Portion of fish was small too.

Thank you for the great review, I have always found english fish and chips bland so I am not surprised. Ri Ra In Mandalay place actually has a very nice fish and chips very traditional but tasty.

I pass by Ri Ra all the time but I've never actually eaten there. If ever I'm going through the Mandalay shops I end up at Slice of Vegas. Maybe I'll stop by Ri Ra and check out their fish and chips one of these days. Thanks for watching!

This looks so good but I like the fish and chips at Bluesalt fish grill by my work in Torrance. And it’s a fraction of the cost. It also comes with a side salad so you kind of feel healthier.

As a Brit living here in Vegas, your opinion matches mine, it's okay if you feel like fish and chips and you happen to be within say, 100ft of the place, otherwise get in your car and head over to the Cod Father, they have real fish and chips.

If I ever go back to LV eating there will be on of the first things I do. I love Fish & Chips. The snack bar at South Point used to have very good F & C but they changed it and now it’s ordinary.

Ah, I've never tried the fish and chips from South Point but that's unfortunate they changed the recipe. There's also very good fish and chips from the Village Pub at Ellis Island right behind the Linq Promenade as well! Thanks for watching!

So I just watched a video about a New Mexican steakhouse … you have to check this place out! I know you must know about it.. but I had to share and request you go there if you haven’t because I’d love to hear your take on it. I don’t think it’s necessary to order so many sides etc if you get that tomahawk steak! Wow!

I've never had it at Ellis Island. Anytime I go to the Village Pub I only get the steak and eggs special or the prime rib. But I have heard that Ellis Island fish and chips are solid. I'll try it one of these days. Thanks panjo!!

I'm nuts about dousing the malt vinegar all over the fish n chips.. Lemon also, salt of needed, but definitely copious amounts of malt vinegar, it hits just right. I'd have chosen the same sauces as you, they both looked so yummy from through the looking glass. 😋 👍🌻

I’m Canadian I have had fish and chips in Britain and I was so disappointed in the Maritime provinces they use halibut for their fish and chips I live on the other side of Canada and if it wasn’t an eight hour flight I would go twice a year and the scallops and lobster are out of this world

A great place for a quick bite. love the fish but i always dip it in sauce. Fried are crisp enough. The place could be a little bigger since finding a place to eat the food at is a challenge

I can't imagine the pieces you're talking about because the fish at GR's were pretty large from my point of view. But I literally never order Fish and Chips at any restaurants I go to that have it because I just always go for something else, so my knowledge of fish and chips is really limited. The malt vinegar was over by the drink dispenser but I didn't want to lose my seat trying to pack up my tripod and such after I got my food. Very limited seating at this establishment. Texture was fantastic. It actually was not super greasy either. Thanks for watching!

Seems a bit pricey for fast food but then fast food has gone up and up. Less to get the catfish bites from Arby's. The catfish bites were way to salty though. I'll stick to pub fish and chips when I'm in the mood. I do like Gordon Ramsey burger place in Vegas. Bring money.

Definitely bring your wallets full when you come to Vegas because it's not cheap here any longer. Unless you're going for the novelty of hitting up a Chef Ramsay restaurant, I'd recommend going 1 street back from here for fish and chips at Ellis Island's Village Pub. Thanks for watching!

I was just there last week. First time going to this location. Didn't like that they waste so much water, all the time while I waited for my food (about 7 to 10 min.) a water faucet was full blast open. I told one of the workers that it was overflowing and she responded by saying; oh that's ok we do this all the time. 😬😕

The fish and chips is meant to be bland because they expect you to eat tartar sauce or mango sauce with it, over seasoning the fish would make it too much, great review though!

I got a bad case of diarrhea after eating there. The fish was undercooked, almost cold in the center, and was dripping with grease. Shop was borderline dirty, and the "help yourself" napkins and drink lids is nasty (I saw a dude wipe his nose before grabbing a large handful of napkins, and putting a few back). WAY over price garbage. You'll get better fish at 1/3 the price at Long John Silvers...I kid you not.

Thankfully, the chances chef Ramsay watches this video are near 0% lol. It was a little greasy but I wouldn't personally classify it as a super greasy fry job. I think they kept their oil temps pretty hot. Thanks for watching!

I ate there 2 months ago. Had to bee line it back to my hotel room so I could purge all the meal out my sphincter. Spent the next two days riding the comode. Hey, but I lost 15lbs. Sent them a bill for all the T.P. I used. Hotel charged me extra for that.

Yes, others have mentioned that the milder flavor was by design of the dish. For me, it's like the difference of cooking chicken with salt and pepper, and without. Still tastes like chicken, but lacking depth. That's what I was thinking. But the sauces more than make up for it. Thanks for watching!
