Just some basics on cutting and engraving leather on a diode laser. I am using the Ortur Laser Master 3, but most lasers will do. All opinions are my own. Leave yours below
This was just exactly the video I was looking for. Just bought an LM3 - haven't even set it up yet - & was wondering about making leather goods with it. I know nothing about leather either, just intrigued and it seemed like it would be cool. What a perfect video for my particular situation. Cheers!
This is why I'm looking to get a Lazer. I make leather items and specifically looking for a laser to do my guitar straps. The extension kit with this Ortur master 3 kit looks like what I need. Thanks for doing these videos!
I use air assist for cutting, much cleaner cuts and less charing, plus it means I can run it on less power. I mainly use buttero leather at 1.4 to 2mm, it cuts really nice.
What do you do when you cut and engrave? I seem to be doing both most of the time. I have some bottero as well about same as yours. Looking forward to making some wallets. Thanks
@@ValleyForged I only lightly engrave my stitch marks, I always do my stitch marks first without air assist then I'll do the cutting with air assist. I also stopped masking the leather after I got the air assist, definitely works better. Buttero is great to work with, burnishes great. I hope you post a video of you using buttero in the future.
Hey there, thanks for the video! Do you think you can share the test pattern file? If not, what settings are you using? I get really distinct lines on the ones i've tried so far. But I don't seem to see them on your tests. Was wondering how to get solid blocks rather than patterns with many little horizontal lines
