When I was 6 years old I lived in Berlin and every time when I ate icecream ( the ice cream shop was near the airport. ) I always covered my ears because planes over there were landing and taking off, but after the last flight I was happy that there were no loud noises, but then when I started to line aviation, I asked my father that can we go near the gates of the airport which it was at 4:51 we rode bikes and he told me some stories about it. The reason why it was abondoned was because in Schönefeld there was a bigger airport that replaced the Tegel and Tempelhof, we saw a small abondoned plane that I never recognised it, at first I thought it was a Boeing 727. But I was wrong. It wasn’t. And at the ATC there’s a still working antenna that is tracking all the planes, But not the new ones that are made. I felt bad about Tegel because I used to be at a plane there, it was not airframe like you see on the video, which it was at 5:06. O think that we were flying with easyJet to Greece. Thanks for the Service Tegel Flughafen. Danke für die Service Tegel.
A sad day in aviation.. who knows maybe some billionaire will buy the place and use it for historical storage of aircraft and how about an airshow here every year?
