Adam: Sincere suggestion if you really want to be "Fit by Fifty." Go see a primary care physician and get your vitals and basic blood work (blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose, liver and kidney function). With that knowledge, you can really set yourself up to win this challenge, and make any needed adjustments to your diet and exercise. And drink all of the Dasani water you want -- there is ZERO salt in it. It's purified tap water enhanced with minerals for taste.
@@RideFasterwith activity (sweating) one loses quite a bit of sodium. I had severe cramps when I reduced my salt intake. I started drinking water from a 100 oz bottle and added 3/4 of a teaspoon of salt, cramps went away.

I turn 50 next year, and I too am doing "fit by 50." I went to my MD, had baseline blood work, and got the OK to exercise. I joined a gym, told the trainer that my goal is X weight (agreed on by my MD and the trainer), and that summer 2025 I will be hiking up Mount Washington. That's my goal: To literally climb a mountain and get my body in shape. My 50s will be the decade of health and hiking. Best wishes to you on your health journey!

Hey Adam! Something to add to your kitchen outfitting process is a crockpot. Man, there are so many recipes out there. An easy way to eat healthy, affordably, and without making much of mess. I think the slogan is, "Set it, and forget it" ; but pronounced, "Set et', and fohget' et'!"

Hi Adam. When I started my new lifestyle change a couple of years back I cook way more at home. I only eat out about twice a month. I don't miss it. I lost over 100 lbs. and maintaining it. Why I say a lifestyle change that's what it really is in my opinion.

Adam it was a fun day in Celebration and I always love that farmers market when you go there also I love Del Taco and I’m on a fitness journey and every once in awhile I will go to Del Taco and I order less because I’m eating less and on my fitness journey I’m eating healthy but at the same time I’m also eating regular food but smaller amounts so I don’t get into an eating binge and start eating huge amounts of unhealthy food and I have lost 18 pounds in 2 mouth and I feel greet and I workout 2hr a day once in the morning and once in the evening so I wish you the best of luck on your fitness journey, now with that peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next awesome vlog adventure peace ☮️ out ✌️
Love the target thumbnail, super enticing! I feel you on the del taco, we’ve got one and it’s just not as satisfying a home cooked meal. I’m excited for this home era, it’s fun seeing what new you get, little by little at Home Depot for shelving and target for cooking l! When I had a functional kitchen I’ve tried homechef before and it was fun and the meals were good. I been looking at hungryroot as well, I’ll try it sometime but I can only recommend home chef if you want to try something fun. This was a super relaxed vLog!
You had mentioned Taco Bell are being Del taco and to be honest with you up here in Ohio we actually have one and I tried them and my opinion way better than Taco Bell. I used to eat the crap out of Taco Bell back in the 90s and all through the 2000s, but somewhere along the line, they changed the flavor of their meat, and even now will you look at their taco shells, and Even their flour tortillas it’s all different. It’s not the original style that they used to have or flavor it taste way different. Of course this generation would know that but just saying for us old people in the same Taco Bell so Del Taco is way better food wise just my opinion but anyway, thanks for your videos and will always keep watching.
Thank you for what you do bud...I watch almost daily and have lived vicariously thru you for years now as my health has failed but it has also encouraged me to share as many of all the years and adventures ive shared with da folks I've done life with as well before they are simply lost to time and all those memories simply leave with me...this last year in bed I've scoured hundreds of thousands of images, external hard drives, computers, phones etc over last 30 years or so and it's help sustain me and occupy my mind while dealing with this all...just know how important what you do means to folks that you don't even realize how much affect you actually have on folks trajectories...keep it up bud! You are truly da best at it...

No hate to anyone looking to be healthier but dieting to lose weight followed by putting it back on again is not good for your body. I did it in my 20s but at 30 decided to try something different, spent the whole year changing what & how I ate. Nothing was off limits but I learned to be mindful of what I was eating & only have a little bit if I knew it was unhealthy or if I had indulged Id try to behave more in the next few days. It was a lifestyle change more than a diet, I lost approximately 30 lbs & have kept them off for over 30 years now excluding 2 pregnancies. It was pretty easy once I got used to it & I found the less junk I ate the less I wanted to eat. My current diet is probably closest to the Mediterranean diet but if I want pizza or ice cream by god I have it with no guilt because it all evens out in the end.
Im going to start fit by forty! I lost 50 pounds last year from March to Sept without going to the gym once. Ive gained 10 lbs of that back so its time to start fresh. Intermittent fasting 16/8 Try to eat as little sugar and carbs as possible with less processed food. Walk 30 min fast 4-5 times a week. Smaller portion size for each meal. Worked great last time and i want to loose 20 lbs to be 175 by the end of May! Join me? Shall you?
Del Taco is so good. I like it better than Taco Bell. But! Del Taco was actually better back in the 70s and early 80s than they are now. I wish it was still like it used to be.
The original Del Taco in Barstow Ca my hometown is the best Del Taco. It's not franchised out it's still ran by the. Original owners I miss it now that I been living in Texas.

Hello Adam. The places you drive around are really beautiful! Houses are not that unique nowadays! If you don’t have a crock-pot, you should get one. You can make very good meals using it. well keto worked for me. still can have all protein veggies you want sugar free jello. no carb or low carb. i no longer crave sweets or feeding my face. i eat clean nothing from can no processed food and im over sixty. just a thought
