Instagram- AdamTheWooATW The retro theme park postcards might be a new deep rabbit hole to go down. I love them. Easy to store and don’t take up much space
Nice pick ups. Loved family matters. Vader poster looks sick. You brought up the Peewee doll and funny enough I watched Big Adventure last night. I had no idea Phil Hartman cowrote that movie. Any chance you dive into Comics?
Have so many view master sets and postcards from the 70's and early 80's. Was so much easier than taking pictures hoping they would turn out right. The one day ticket to Disney World just happened to be stamped with my birthday. Dec. 30th. Love it!!!
I love how excited you are about the post cards!!! I never thought I'd be the same way until I found some old Vegas postcards that had writing on the back and read what they said. You are discovering a little piece of joy someone had in the past and it's actually pretty exciting!! Thanks for the video! That's gonna do it for today.. the comment is over
Thank you for sharing- I feel like your happiness in this video is what Walt was also trying to pass down by creating what he did. You could feel your happiness you was exuding.
Our next postcard show that I'll be set up at selling Disney postcards is Feb 9th and 10th at the Hampton Inn, 4017 Tampa Rd Oldmar FL, Fri 10-6 and Sat 9-5. Hope to see everyone there! !
I love post cards. I started my collection at Knotts in the 50's and have many NY World's Fair, Disney cards etc... 😎 Currently, I am an architectural photo/videographer/drone pro still lovin pix. I have that Knotts volcano card. 🧐
Watching you living your best life, flicking the postcards HAHA and enjoying memories like this,....is a joy! 🙂 It reminded me of the shot I have of my brothers, mom & I at Disneyworld back in the late 70's. Standing in front of the riverboat. We were making faces, what great memories. I LOVE vintage collectible shows of any kind.
A lot of single guys that are close to 50 are miserable, depressed, and kind of mad at the world, but it shows how much you love your life man. It’s great and refreshing to have someone with a great outlook on life doing things that they love to do being where they need to be and where they want to be. I know uploading can be kind of a hassle, sometimes always having a camera in your hand, and again the whole hidden doesn’t like everything you do but it’s great that we can sit here and watch the videos that we wanna watch and support you and that way. Keep up the great work Adam congratulations on buying the new house.
@@blaykjohansen7555 lol. Nice. Sad but true and very funny. Fortunately I love my wife and kiddos but yeah, I know some people are very close to me that I feel that way.
As I commented yesterday he's still a big child and he agreed lol. I didn't mean it in a negative way but it makes sense as most of us are far happier when we were children and teenagers. I don't blame him for not wanting to grow up.
The treasure trove of postcards!!!! Great box to store them and all those sleeves to protect from bending…I love collections, this is an impressive haul!
Did you see any postcards of Six Gun Territory? That was actually my favorite theme park when I was a kid. Those shootouts where the cowboys fell off the roofs were so thrilling to see as a child!
Love vintage postcards as well, messages & postmarks are a big PLUS! 👍 I’m glad you showed us the toy show venue and all the fun stuff you brought home. Cheers from Old Highway 66 in central Oklahoma! ✅
You made me go look at what Disney posts cards I have from my 1969 trip to Disneyland. I've got a few. But only 1 from Knotts Berry Farm. Chief Red Feather. Since his is the only Knotts card I have, he must have impressed me. I was 10 years old at the time in 1969.
I love post cards from disney and old brochures. When ever I go to the antique shops I only look for old school disney. I just got an original opening day park map to mgm studios!!
What a great collection of items you found! That place was full of gold! I saw several items I would've jumped at! Ha Congrats on the new collection... post cards are awesome!
I love that you took the time to show all the postcards that you got. Im motivated to find my GF post card, it was big & luxurious. The Polynesian ones hit the nostalgic button. Im excited to see more nerd room updates in the future! I found my old figment like yours and I have a mini ewoke from star tours gift shop! I also collected muppet every time at mgm studios. Im inspired to do shelving like yours and put things out to enjoy! These things are classics and have memories from Disney Trips! I love the OLD Nintendo & real Games. I have N64 and I want to do the same set up as you now. All this stuff is packed away but I'm bringing it out now!
I gotta say man, being a central fl resident as well, in maitland, you doing these vids have really lit a fire in me to actually do more around town. Planning on making a list and keeping updated this year. It’s difficult not really having anyone to do stuff with so you are a real inspiration to just get up and go do stuff
Once you get used to it, it can be fun to do things on your own. Get out there and go have fun! You live in a great place with so many interesting things to do!
Oh yes, collecting postcards can be very habit forming! I started my collection when I was re-doing some old scrapbooks and took the postcards out and started an album just with them. Then I went to Rennigers in Mt. Dora when they had the huge antique and collectibles shows in January-March and started collecting cards from places that meant something to me from places where I had lived to attractions I had gone to. I found a lot on Ebay also. I quit around 2008 but still collect postcards from places I go to. Have fun with it! I enjoy you sharing.
The fact you actually had the eye to grab ones which are very vintage aka stuff which does not exist anymore is very neat. What a great collection. I collect post cards as well. I have a big cork board above my computer desk which has the post cards from places I have visited.
Absolutely love that you attended and filmed this for us Adam! My grandmother was from DeLand and I've been through a couple times but never to the fairgrounds. Used to have a collectible toy store downtown that was pretty cool
I have all of the Star Wars Poster Monthly's and a few of the Empire Strikes Back ones. They were the precursor to the Insider which started in 86 or 87. That was a cool find!!!!
That place was awesome.. I have some pirates of the Caribbean postcards I used to collect from when I was a kid back in early 70’s ..I would jump down that rabbit hole too .
so cool! takes me back to when WDW opened. my sister worked there. 1972-1980. I used to have some of those post cards. we would go to WDW for my birthday. good times.
That was a fun video. I'm glad to see you enjoying your postcards & going down history lane. I hope you give us a postcard update somewhere down the line.
Great video, and glad to finally meet you yesterday at the show! Now after watching your video I wish I would've checked out the postcard convention more, looks like you picked up some awesome classic Florida/Disney postcards!
Glad you liked the postcard show Adam. Ive been collecting postcards for over 50 years now and its a great hobby. I'm also a postcard dealer living in Sarasota and have over 50,000 cards for sale! I also specialize in Theme Park postcards and I collect WDW myself
Someone may have mentioned it already, but I believe that castle postcard from overseas was the Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, Germany, that inspired the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland. It’s in Soarin’! 🏰😃
Fun new hobby! And yes I am here to say that Disneyland was called The Magic Kingdom since its implementation. Glad you found some documentation of it now! Ha ha. Have a great week.
This was awesome. Loved the video. The Goofy golf postcard was from 1984 and in regards to the PGA Walt Disney World Classic. Played at three courses. The Palm, Magnolia and Lake Buena Vista.
I just started to collect post cards and magnets. I picked up a bunch when l was Plam Springs and Las Vegas. A small treasure to take home from your travels
Adam, I am looking forward to all of your viewers, myself included going down this new rabbit hole with you! What a cool new journey! You could research where these shows are and when, and explore those cities while you are there! I am on board! Choo choo!
Adam, I love this video so much!! FYI, Monsanto Hall of Chemistry is located where Star Tours currently exists. The current building use to formerly be Adventure Thru Inner Space which was also an attraction presented by Monsanto. Monsanto also sponsored The House of The Future which was located near The Matterhorn.
We called it the eyeball ride since someone was looking at you through a telescope. It had what I think was the first dooms buggy but not called that. Located where the Star Wars ride is which is so much better going into Tomorrowland.
Adam those 70’s era WDW cards that will spark memories , my family took my grandfather’s Airstream to the camper Part of Wilderness lodge. We were only a couple of hundred yards from the Wilderness entrance and that had country fence posts type fence my older cousin acted as a sitter for me. My smile was so big walking through that gate I would have needs a “Grinectomy”😅
I totally relate to the comfort and happiness that things from your childhood and the past can bring Adam! I'm a big 80's alternative music fan, I'd be melancholy without it! Can't wait to see you customize your new pad with all your favorite things! ❤
I was initially confused when I first saw videos of WDW calling it the Magic Kingdom, as Disneyland was always called that when I was a kid. It is weird to see things that were before your time in photos, videos, and postcards. I love finding things like the postcards that dipict the history of places, kind of like a time machine. Enjoy your finds with Steve!
My oldest brother was a bus boy at Knotts Steak House in the early 70’s. Last year I found a menu for the Steak House on ETSY so I bought it to give to him for Christmas. Unfortunately I lost my brother in September so I gave the menu to his son and told him that his dad worked there during high school.
I'll say it again, I love your childlike excitement when you find "goodies". ❤ Thank you, Adam, for sharing your day with us and your excitement! Hugs 🤗 and God bless 🙏
Good morning Adam ☀️ "Did I do that"😂 Steve Urkel hes 47 in real life same age as im. Jalee White the doll from tv shows they do a pee wee Herman doll just like him. That place your at looks great so much to collect. Thank you for taking us along. I like to collect as well. Baseball cards, old magazines, CDs and DVDs, movie posters that are real, books with autographs in them, and vintage advertising. Take care .
