Well, the end has finally arrived. Today is the final day of this incredible 16-Day South America & Antarctica cruise on the NCL Star. I'm so sad it's over, but so grateful to have had such an amazing experience! Did everything go as planned? No, of course not - it wouldn't be a vacation if there weren't some obstacles along the way. But I had a great trip and made the best of every situation, good or bad. Follow along as I spend this last day staying on the ship while we anchor off the coast of Punta del Este, Uruguay. I spend some time working and relaxing at Spice H20 and then enjoy my last evening in Proof Whiskey Bar watching Karaoke and hanging with friends.

Hi, Meredith. I just discovered your channel and had to let you know how much I enjoyed this series and the way you vlog. I stumbled across your channel while looking for videos on cruising solo and am delighted to see and hear that you do it frequently. I'm considering my first solo cruise in Europe next year so am trying to get as much info and see as many different perspectives as possible and love how much information and video you share. And yes, it is great to stay on board when the ship is in port. In fact during the Punta Del Este call was one of the rare times I went to the pool as it finally looked like on those photos in the brochure: practically all to myself 🙂

Loved that you wrapped up the cruise with some info months after. It was likely done by accident but you should do that more often. Getting time away and then giving your thoughts could be a refreshing way of doing it. Just a thought.

Thanks for sharing, great videos. I am definitely now considering going on a cruise to this location. I am glad you liked the Norwegian Star, I will be sailing on her for 14 days in July to Greenland and Iceland.

Oh No! You stayed on the ship! I loved Punte del Este. I went for a walk along thr beachfront, found a cafe, had a pizza and a beer. Got charged $25 Australian, which I thought wasn't bad. Then I went on a local tour, about ten of us in a mini bus

I've never been on a cruise, but would love to one day. I'd also be going solo. This cruise looked amazing. Definitely one to add to my bucket list.

I agree with your review of the Star! We just got back from a sailing (Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro). We loved the ship and crew. Yes, small and older, but nothing wrong with that. Staff also great, cabin fine (I recognized the creaking sound you mentioned in previous vlogs when the sea is rough) and I liked the public spaces. If I could change something, it would be the location of the coffee bar in the centre/mid atrium. A normal bar with a musician would be nicer in my opinion. Thanks for the vlogs. Curious to see your Valiant Lady vlogs, sailed on her last August😄

Totally agree about the coffee bar! On the Gem they have a great open space for live music and a circular full bar and I think that layout is the best on the smaller/midsize NCL ships. Thanks so much for watching, I’m so glad you enjoyed your cruise! 😊

No public laundry room, but they do run a laundry special (approx $30 - $35 for a bag) in your cabin at various times throughout the cruise.

@@kuttyraju2899 prices for this cruise are going to vastly differ depending on when you go - I went over the holidays which was more expensive than if you go before or after. It also depends on what cabin type you book. A balcony is going to cost quite a bit more than an inside cabin.
