Proof that the cops themselves love the Crown Victoria, and for a good reason: RWD, V8 power, and most importantly body-on-frame. The Panther is a legend. Went from 1979 to 2011 over a span of 33 years. I don't know why the narrator said '50s, as it's actually a 1970s design. So sad there's very few left in police and taxi service now, which cheaper built (despite faster) vehicles taking over. That really was an end of an era. I still want to know what happened to the one in 1:21. Clearly it got hit HARD, even though the back is still intact. I have one myself, an '89 LX.

The Crown Victoria name was used in 1955-1956 in the Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria models.

I've had about 20 Crown Victoria CVPI's, a couple of civilian units,a 1968 LTD XL and 3 Ford Taurus police interceptors(FIPS)..... All of the Ford tauruses have been sold, but i still have 3CVPIs,two 2008s(one in the thumbnail) and a 2006. Everytime I sell a Crown Victoria police interceptor it's kind of hard to let them go....... But I got one that's never gonna go anywhere.......... Except to lay down a rubber road to freedom every chance I get to throw her in gear and make that throttle body howl and overrun pulley on the alternator whirrrrrrrr while WFO through the gears.... What an amazing car own!!! 🚓💨🇺🇸💨🇺🇸💨🇺🇸💨🇺🇸💨🇺🇸💨

Sitting in my garage next to my 2011 MN state trooper watching this video. Great cars. Had this one for a few years. Had a 98 Iowa highway patrol crown Vic years ago also.

Owned a former patrol cruiser-72 Plymouth Fury with a 440 police interceptor under the hood that my dad bought at auction, in 1981 as a 16 year old kid. It still had the spotlight on it but they took off the hood 'stop' light but left the holes lol that car was a powerful, huge tank!

The Taurus, New Caprice PPV ended production in 2017 due to the popularity of the SUV and pickups for patrol duty. The Charger is the lone patrol car. The Crown Victoria, Dodge Diplomat and Chevrolet Caprice (up to 1996) were the best police vehicles; they were tough, powerful and roomy for the officers, suspects and the equipment.
