This was recorded at Vamp'd on April 14th, 2016. I do not claim to own the rights to this music. Those rights belong to the artists. I am simply a fan who would like to share this video with other fans and the band.
I heard a story that whenever they were in the studio recording this song The producers heard them walking down the hallway and said that's what we want that sells that music is gold
Appice and Campbell go a long way to make this legit. I have to give the lead singer some credit here. Filling Dio's shoes is not for the faint of heart and untalented.....
The singer does a fairly good job. I’m sure he could easily sing Motley Crue and not even break a sweat. RJD? I give this guy credit for even getting up on that stage WITH Vivian Campbell AND Vinnie Apiece and going for it AND not embarrassing himself. (That’s a compliment by the way.) I’ve heard lesser singers attempt RJD vocals and not pull it off AT ALL. Good to see Vivian and Vinnie still doing it. Bass player didn’t shit the bed. So overall pretty good. I could get drunk to this (another compliment). 🤙🏼
@@mikeopeka9900 - I was replying to the OP, who said Vivian Campbell is the standard by which others are measured. What I meant was Vivian is the standard for playing Rainbow In The Dark (and other songs he wrote and originally played on), rather than the standard for guitar playing in general.
Hands down the BEST comments!! So much love and respect for Vivian Campbell, aka. my all time favorite guitarist!! I love everyone that commented on here!! LOVE YOU VIVIAN!!!
I just love Vivian Campbell. No other Dio guitarist comes close. When I watched the mighty Gary Moore perform Black Rose on the Phil Lynott tribute I was totally in awe of his playing and wondered if anyone could equal this. Sure enough the Thin Lizzy tribute band featuring Vivian nailed it beautifully. Gary Moore, Vivian Campbell and of course Phil Lynott/Thin Lizzy are national treasures of Ireland. All the very best to Vivian in anything you do. Cheers 👍😀
Why criminal, everyone who says someone is underrated don't really understand.he is not underrated, it's just a term people use as they don't understand themselves...
@stephenpatton6985 rating is an opinion using ones own taste as the metric. While most people realize and respect this, every once-in-a-while some self-righteous narrsasistic asshole has to come along and self venerate themselves as the Arbator of " the absolute truths"... Thanks for your candid yet unsolicited verdict/ ruling on the value and ranking of Vivian Campbell, enlightening everyone who is fortunate enough to read your comment. Thank you for channeling your inner Gene Simmons for us..unless it's actually you, Gene..Than Thank you for inventing the internet..and Shoes. We are forever in your debt.
Dio was and is the god of metal, but I went to see Dio on the LiL tour to see Vivian play. To a young guitarist, he was it!!!!! Saw Viv again with Whitesnake and got to hang with him for a bit, he hung with us until the tour bus left, ignoring the groupies and talking guitars. He became more my guitar hero that day. If they come anywhere near my town on tour, I am there!
Flying in from Finland to see them in the very same place on Nov 19th. Saw TheEndMachine there a couple of years back and loved the place. Never got to see Vivian live with Dio....Vinny of course many times.
Vivian Campbell é formidável nas seis cordas, som limpo sai dos alto-falantes, tbm virtuoso e pesado. Vinnie Appice dono de um peso estratosférico, legendário, um responsável por eu amar o instrumento!
I've seen viv loads in recent times with Def Leppard and yes he takes more of a back seat. BUT his playing is always very emotional. When he plays the goldtop les Paul with p90's it blows me away.
Back in 1983 me and my bros wore this tape out'', we listened to it so much'', the writing on it wore off''', and we had a hell of a sound system'', 150 real watts''''' of 8 ohm power'''''' with 12 inch full range speakers with 6 inch mids and 2 inch trebles'', and that shit did Not wear out'', true'''''' Power''''. So many nights of drinking EverClear 190 when we didn't have weed''', One night I had to roll against the wall to get to my bedroom''''' 😆😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
This was the album release show for their first album. zrockr.com/2016/05/01/last-in-line/ They didn't have things like Meet and Greets back then and the band hung out after the show. I was glad to be there!
Viv nailed back then and nailed it today. Wish he would go a little more wilder like he did back in the day but we all getting a little old and rusty. Lol.
Awesome meeting Vivian when he was with Dio, while groupies ran around after show, I spent the time with Vivian on the Tour Bus with a friend of his from Ireland, we pre-veiwed the new U2 album along with some Moosehead & some "medical" herb. He was a great guy, compared to many of the a$$es in the music industry. Awesome band, they are playing tonight in Houston, friends sending me live streams from their phones.
