After our fantastic time crossing the Big Chute Marine Railway, we have only one lock remaining on the Trent-Severn Waterway before we head into the Georgian Bay. We try to take in this historic waterway, one last time, as we continue on America's Great Loop!
Thanks for watching!
Cheers from the Loop,
Jennifer and Elliot

ABOUT US
Hi! We are high school sweethearts from Atlanta, Georgia who decided to take a year off to travel around the world. Together we decided to create vlogs for our journey as a fun way to remember it. On September 15, 2019, we left Atlanta with 3 bags, 2 one-way tickets, and 1 goal of traveling for a whole year. Little did we know, 6 months later we would find ourselves in a nationwide lockdown in India. After spending 5 months in India, we came back to the United States and decided to purchase a 34’ Trawler, dive headfirst into boat life, and kick-off America’s Great Loop.
The good, the bad, the ugly - and most importantly, the real and real funny. We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.”, just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem.
Thank you for following us along our journey!

I'm really enjoying your adventure! Although I now live in Kingston, Ontario, you are now pulling to my hometown of Midland. Loving recognizing so many sights along the way. Also, just FYI.....we just call it - 'Georgian Bay.' 😊 Thank you for this awesome series!

Great videos! Just a bit of useless info: the Port Severn lock was built as a “temporary” lock to get the waterway finally open as WW1 had stopped construction. The exit to Georgian Bay was supposed to be further north near Honey Harbour. But it never happened. 😁

WE were headed to a fishing trip to Northern Ontario, US Memorial weekend 1985, just coming into Parry Sound we were in heavy rain. As we got into Parry we saw a shopping center damaged, trees down, guard rails ripped, tractor trailers laying on their side. Multiple tornadoes had just hit including an F4. We missed it by 20 minutes. Tornadoes that day were all over Ontario, Mi, Oh, Pa NY. A friend was traveling on PA I-79 got under a overpass bridge to avoid the storm, not recommended but was their only choice..

Midland, Penetanguishene, and Port Severn area was my home for 40 years. But now by now you know the further north you go, the scenery gets more beautiful and interesting. Anchoring spots are by the10,000's. Any local would give you directions and watch hazards. By now you'd know it was real shoaly. There is so much history there you'd need a photographic memory to keep it all lol. I so much miss it. But age gets you. Like the old saying goes, Yah gotta know your limits lol. But I have so enjoyed your videos. All down to earth subjects and no know it all stuff. Everytime you sign off I Can't wait to see the next chapter lol,

As a rule, I never talk into a radio mic or into my cupped hand. That forces your breath into the mic causing distorsion an poping. I hold the mike loosly in one hand with my palm creating a cup. Other hand is always free to do other things. I then rest my thumb on the opposing side of my jaw, your index finger touching your cheek. Left hand to right side of face or vice versa. In this position the mic should be blocked from the wind by both your hand and your face. The only opening being at the V of your thumb by the corner of your mouth. You should be able to blow and all the air run down the back of your hand an down your arm, none of the air should go into your hand or the mic. In this position the mic will pick up your voice clearly with no distortion or breath poping. It will also not pick up wind or background noise unless conditions are really bad. As a fireman, I could not stand directly beside my pumping fire engine, but could talk clearly on the radio 10 feet away from it. Both cops an firemen do it this way even with their shoulder mounted mics just by turning their head till there face touches their hand. If your radio has a PA setting, plug headphones in to the PA port, flip it to PA an listen to how you sound for yourself
