Last Week/Last Month was my comfort series for a really dark portion of my life. I'm personally doing quite a bit better than I was back then, and so seeing it return and seeing Tom visibly doing better than that phase is oddly comforting.

Hi Tom, I'm pausing on what you're saying about trauma. Few years ago, I used something called Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) whith a therapist and it really helped me to work on my traumas. I don't know if you know it and if you already talked about it with your herapist but it really helped me (and also some of my friends). It's quite weird when you do it but it's really effective and it is used in hospitals for PTSD.

I dont mean to be depressing, but this has made me painfully aware of how poor my mental health might actually be. Tom has had all the issues he had, and he has friends around him and goes out on trips and etc. All things that are supposed to help with mental wellbeing. I haven't left my house in months. I live alone. I have 1 friend who I see maybe once a month for a couple hours IF THAT. Nobody messages me, and I dont message anyone... Yet somehow, I wonder why Im depressed a lot of the time. I think I've found why.

Hey, in a way I am now messaging you. Not privately or anything, but I am writing a message to you. So now at least one person has messaged you! It's not much more than nobody, but it is more. Have you considered going for a walk today? A bit of fresh air and some movement can make a difference, though of course, it won't just magically make all the depression disappear. But it could be a start. Hang in there, things can get better again. I'm not going to promise you that they definitely will, but I can tell you from experience that sometimes they do, even when it looks like they won't. Also the reason you are currently in that situation might also be trauma. I mean, I don't know that, I don't know you, but I think it's a lot more common than people think. Especially some of the people who have it, because, like Tom, a lot of other people too have a specific idea of what trauma is and don't feel like they had it bad enough to call it that. If you feel like looking into that, I recommend the RU-vid Channel of Patrick Teahan. He is a therapist who specialises in complex ptsd. His videos have sometimes helped me in the past. So, all in all, I hope your day doesn't suck all THAT much and that you find the energy to take one step in the right direction at some point in the not too far off future. But if that doesn't apply, that still doesn't say anything about your worth or capabilities as a human being. Sometimes things take time.

I've been watching Tom's videos on both of his channels since I was about 11. I started off by watching the hairdresser lightsaber fight video then binging the entire channel. Ikd how long ago that was. I just know that it was a long time ago. Tom. You, Eddie and Elliot have been great inspirations for me. Watching you guys conjure up the funniest ads and some of the best YT videos is so amazing to see. As a kid I knew I wanted to make videos like yours. And I did (they're now deleted) even some of the ones I make now have some essence of your style of humour. In a few days I'll be turning 20. It's been one of the best things to have grown up watching your videos. Content has literally gotten me through the hardest times in my life. I just wanna say thank you.

it's great to have last month back! last week and last month were comfort series for me, like a lot of other people, and i still go back and watch old videos a lot, especially now that i'm 26, and the way i felt originally watching the vlogs versus now is a really interesting lens to see how much my own life has changed in 5+ years. as much as i love to have new content as a fan, i hope this round of vlogs is a more positive experience for you as well! also, i love the slight changes to the editing style; the cut-aways really add a lot, and as a whole it feels surprisingly snappy for a nearly-30 minute video!

I just wanna say that I'm really glad this series is back. I started watching around the time last week was being made, but I didn't know about this channel, which I still call darksquidge for some reason, until after last month was nearly done. I ended up binging the whole channel and must've seen each video here at least 5 times, could probably remember roughly everything that happened, if given some clues at least. I'm really glad to be able to see it 'live' because it feels like I'm actually a part of it, even though I'm just watching what happens. My favourite videos on this channel are the Tomska's day outs, and these are really just them but longer and a bit ramblier (that's a word, shut up), but I like that. It makes them feel more real, like I'm talking to a friend. Basically what I'm trying to say is: I love your content, Tom, and while I haven't been here from the start, Im glad to know you know and I hope you continue to make more amazing content!

yooo we out here getting that therapy for that trauma! yeah trauma can come from a lot of places. i was personally so traumatized from getting kicked out of a friend group/project that i literally just. stopped talking to people and being friends with people for a whole year until i got therapy and worked through it. still trying to gain that trust back and open up to people more. but yeah, a lots clearly Happened to u so im not surprised, but very happy to see the process of healing is now underway. its a rough road and sometimes requires some difficult decisions and a lot of crying but its so worth it

Whew boy, does this vlog give me complicated feelings, parasocially. It really hit me when you got to the bit about hanging out with Max and his request not to film. Aside from "this is my job and it pays the bills", does filming, editing, and presenting bits of your life help you in any way? Is it...hurting? I enjoy watching, but I also worry. I worry (again, parasocially) about folks who are perceived as wholesome. Maybe that does or doesn't seem strange to you - to be perceived as "wholesome" - given your whole... [gestures at your oeuvre]. But I feel that's a lot of weight to bear, emotionally.

I’ve been dealing with Stuff for many years and had a lot of therapy and tbh by biggest getaway from it, as lame as it sounds, is that whatever you’re feeling is valid. it doesn’t matter if the event wasn’t “that bad” or if some people have it much worse. if it affects you then it just does and that’s fine. there is no minimum amount of bad stuff that needs to happen before you’re allowed to be seriously impacted, and you always deserve help and tools to deal with that reality. even if you feel like you should be able to deal with it on your own it’s never a bad thing to get some help anyways. also worth noting is that the impact of a traumatic event isn’t all determined by the event itself. how well you were doing before and what kind of support you got in the immediate aftermath also affect how you processed it. it’s never too late to start healing tho, I wish you all the best.

Talking therapy can do far more for you in terms of answers than you realise, Tom - just speaking about stuff, and discussing with an impartial third party, can bring a lot of links in your mind that you didn't see before. It takes you out of that crisis mindset and puts you in a more objective state. I've had talking therapy now for nearly 3 years and I've got SO many answers
