Exactly, it isn't a facade it's simply a facet of who you are. Every one acts different in different situations (with friends/with family/business meeting/etc.) so it isn't putting out a "fake you" it's simply the "you that feels the best for where you are now."

Frankly, no one should be 100% authentic with strangers all the time. It's taxing on both you and the people you meet. People are complex and fragile. Interacting with someone who is not covering up their true self can be a very good thing, but it takes time and energy to get down, which is why it's generally reserved for people that are important to you. For everyone else we abide by social norms in order to make things easy. It doesn't mean you're a liar and it doesn't mean you're not amazing even when you're going full blast, it means you respect both yourself and other people enough to know when it's time to go full tilt and when it's time to hold back a little bit. Your public face can still be you, it's just the parts of you that mesh well with the public. People that insist on everybody never holding anything back either don't know what they're asking for or are severely overestimating their ability to treat people who aren't holding back as well as they deserve.

It just as simply as having the online/ presentable persona. I know for a fact that the face I present working in retail are not the same as the depression face i wear at home. The retail one is an elevated version meant to make people have a good experience. Doesnt mean its not me though - Its just another face ive perfected for that sitaution. Just as I different faces/ alias for different friend-group. Not vastly different, but they bring different energy to match theirs - only exception is my "core" group.

Toronto has always had a similar weird energy to New York where you see weird shit in public every day, but the current housing crisis and so many other social issues have been making it less and less hinged every year. I love that city, but it’s becoming harder to justify moving back or recommending people to visit there.

@@RightAwayProductions005 Toronot is one of Canadas most populated cities, it has for years been ran by conservatives trying to defund social services, the province its in (Ontario) is ran by one of those conservatives and ahs been for years. Healthcare, especially mental health and drug rehab are severely needed across Canada but the premier is focusing his efforts in defunding our already underfunded healthcare and is promoting pricy and inefficent private healthcare which of course is getting financial aid that should be going to the public healthcare system. Aka lots of people so even with a low per capita youll run into a lot of unwell individuals or just assholes. Lack of support means that per capita number is growing especially with a worsening cost of living.
