As a young man I watch the show always wondering if I'll ever be able to live in a place like this peace and Harmony brick Cobblestone streets Countryside and fully retired I love it and now I'm an old man I'm watching the show still and still reminiscing
Absolutely brilliant timeless classic comedy will never age as a big fan of last of the summer wine it was the masterpiece of the writer Roy Clarke as a sitcom its absolutely brilliant end of
Edie and the newspaper always makes me chuckle. She reminds me of my mother. We never dared stop eating at dinner, if we slowed down she had our plates picked up and washed in record time.
As much as I will always love dear old Foggy Dewhurst, Michale Aldridge's (Seymore) addition to the cast was enchanting to me. Hilarious. I was sorry to see him go, even tho it was sweet to have Foggy back. Fortunately, I bought a lot of the video collections, so I can go back and watch Aldridge when I like. If I could only have one show to watch on a desert island to keep my spirits up, it would be Last Of The Summer Wine. God bless all of these actors and the incomparable Writer, Roy Clarke. Oh! and don't forget the magical music by Ronnie Hazelhurst!!!!!!
"This is one of the several episodes that they don't air on PBS.... Ray McAnally makes a good hobo, love the scenes with Eli.... the funniest scene is when Nora goes into the tent with beer and Compo follows her in with Seymours sound contraption and the thing roars out real loud and real comedy happens."-😆🖥🍺☕🍺☕🇬🇧🇬🇧..
For those who like me were curious about the song Compo's singing from 6:34 - 6:52, it's a native Yorkshire folk song called "Holmfirth Anthem" also known as 'Pratty Flowers'
Has anyone seen First of The Summer wine ? It is a series of when they were young just as WW2 breaking out its very well done.If you can afford it NOW subscription have all the episodes about 11 euros a month or less depending on package...
It's a shame the first of the Summer wine did not continue. It was perfectly cast and a great idea. In America we literally stolen several BBC shows. Most of those we change too much. Recently we've had great experiences here with the show ghost. I would love to see last of the Summer wine made in American town but I don't want them to change anything. We'll probably never see it but I'm so glad that we have the BBC series. I still only seen the first 18 series. I'm hoping my brother will watch the rest of them with me. We're both senior citizens so he better hurry up and get with may you all be watching them with compo clegg and foggy
Because she was thought of one of acting super stars in Britain. Started her career as a child in the theatres. Made movies during the war and was on tv regular from the start of tv. And was made a Dame.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
too much picture for the size of screen...we miss parts of it..just a shame to damage a great show like this. MISTAsmokeout is much better at getting it on the screen.
I have read that because of the British format its almost impossible to get it right unless you use the small format with the annoying backgrounds. I would rather lose a bit of the picture... just my opinion blue
I do not know what possessed you to upload such poor quality of a good show. I cannot watch. I guess you must have put more up. I shall not waste my time watching, which is a pity.
