Yes she did it.. And she was 92 years old when she died.. But she will always be in everyone's heart.. @@irhdaily actually she sung 30,000 songs and she was still never even a bit self proud or egoistic. She always was a humble person. Never saw herself as something greater than the common public. Never even got married and was very principled and always considered the common public as part of her family as brothers and sisters. RIP Lata ma'am. She was at first rejected by a music director that her voice is too thin and wont suit for movies but she never gave up but insted proved all wrong by conquering the music industry❤
They both are legendary singers even though Udit Narayan started his career in 80s almost 3 decades after Lata Mangeshkar still He managed to record 25000+ songs in his career. All those old great singer from India writes the lyrics of the songs in the notebook and makes special marks on which note they have to sing at which word even after which word they have to take breath each and everything. But now these techniques are not followed by majority of singers.

She's fairly old here (70+), check out her incredible singing in her prime (1950s, 60s, 70s) - you'll have never heard such an amazing voice/control. And those songs were superbly crafted masterpieces. Check out her BBC Studio Live recordings or her concert at Albert Hall 1974, absolutely fantastic both of them.
You know when India won first cricket world cup in 1983, organizer do not have enough fund to distribute with players for their victory rewards. So the organizers had held a concert and invited 'Lata' ji to perform. the concert ended up raising ₹20 lakhs, a princely sum in 1983, and enough for every player to receive ₹1 lakh. And for her part, Lata ji did not charge a penny for the performance.

First song she sung was around 1943. And the last song she sung in 2019. 76 years. Thats called a career. She had to refused firmly for not singing anymore, because every new composer wanted her to sing atleast one song. when she was not available, or sick, or abroad, Director's Producer's used to wait for 1-2 month untill she come back and sing for them. many times, Director used to dismantle all the set and re-build the set when she is available. She is also called Saraswati Ma ( a Godess of Music, Knowledge and Arts ).
