Jesse, would you think they're on the bluff area on the lower end of the lake, say like around point 8, 9, or 10? Do you think small docks will hold them or you better off around the big commercial marinas? I love catching bass but man I'd like to get into some crappie fishing. Great video!
Isolated docks that has some deeper water underneath them have been holding a lot of fish. There are times marinas are good places to fish but it’s much easier to catch them on isolated docks. Yes, I am sure the channel swings bluffs down that way that have some brush will have some Crappie. Dad and I don’t get to fish that part of the lake much but I think we are gonna head that way next time and hopefully make another video.
Yes sir they are still biting just gotta find the right areas on the lake. I can fish a school and they won’t show any interest then I can run a mile down the lake and catch 6-7 keepers out of one spot.
@@justreelfishing2002 thanks, I’ll be watching for the video, I know you fish the river a lot, some guy was telling me the striper make a run up river last of November and first of December there, can you tell me if this is true and why they do it? Thanks
@@tadpolebo I’m not sure about November but the do run in March with the paddlefish to spawn and I fish for them then. However, there have people people striper fishing a lot right around the cut through down towards poor valley creek
@@justreelfishing2002 thanks for the reply, yes I know they run up river in spring and during the shad spawn, but a guy that lives in the Rogersville area told me around December first week they run again and people line the bank fishing for them there, I had never heard of it before, just thought you may know if it was true or not, it’s a 2-1/2 hour drive for me, I do fish there about half dozen times a year, mostly late winter/early spring.
Most of those people in December are probably after Walleye cause that’s when they start moving up the river. It could be some stripper but far as I know I’ve not seen them run that early.
We do better fishing from 25e to Gilmore creek. We usually do not go any farther down. We have never fished for crappie in mossy creek to my knowledge.
