I agree with the no bucks during doe seasons being BS! 31 days during bow season, we have to wear orange. Due to youth, disabled, doe season, and the holiday hunt. Rules state bow season is middle of September to January. Why does it "close" for bucks for like 13 days?! No wonder they had to legalize crossbows for everyone to get bow hunter numbers up! Now look at cell cams on public! 8 days chasing antelope in WY is more enjoyable than the entire archery whitetail season in my back yard. They do have a public input meeting coming up, good place to bring these issues up. Good luck!
The days are so short now i have no problems going in at noon or earlier on windy day to setup did it today only problme was i missed a buck running with the muzzleoader lol thats hunting. Great video northern wi native here like the vid.
When the temps really drop the deer have to feed every 4-5 hours. I also agree about the antlerless deer hunts here in Wisconsin. I remember my son asking me to take him late season bow hunting. I told him it was going to be cold, really cold. He said take me hunting. The day highs were -11 degrees F. He would last about 4 hours every hunt, morning and evening hunts. He was a champ. I had him set up with the proper layers of clothing and some great pack boots. We also used the heater body suit, one of the best things ever made. We seen deer every day just not close enough for a shot.
