Snell doesn't want short term, he only wants that insane 270M over 9 years that he thinks he's worth but really isn't

Monty just Co-led the rangers to a title… I’m a cards fan I’m telling you.. You’d want Monty wish Dewitt and Mo would bring him back he’s legit… he’s not going to give up more than 3 era in about 6.2 innings… he will give up a HR and bounce back really well…

@@boschlosser10 it’s not by much but regular season I’m taking Senga. He did have a better regular season last year even though minte pitched very well. And younger. But playoffs I’m taking Monty. But I’m not expecting the Mets to make the playoffs this year. So if it was one or the other I thinks Senga slightly better for regular season. Tbh I would love both and have been pushing for Monty over all other SP besides Yamo this year and even if got Yamo I wanted Monty. I just meant if Senga out for year for any reason replacing him with Monty is a good replacement but I’d rather have Senga not hurt in perfect world. Wasn’t putting Monty down at all. He kicked 2023s a$$ and should get paid. I hope the Mets pay him. But not more than 5-125/135. Def not more than 5 years.

@@Dee_Rod yeah. But Senga did it here and was a little better in reg season last year. And wasn’t on a contract year either. So if I had a choice I’d take Senga. We all know cohen will buy an ace next year. Senga at 2 and Monty 3 is a very nice front 3. So go get him Unk!!

Point was if Senga not hurt Mets don’t even entertain this. Honestly I still don’t think they do. I think they got grand ideas for next year to sign two top Pitches and Pete and Soto and pray that 2-3 position rookies work out which is very possible with Alverez already there and Williams / Gilbert and acuna we got a good shot at a nice young core to add Soto to and be good for a decade. They want top young SP is why they not in hard on Monty. They building for sustainable future and Monty will be good for maybe 3 more and wants 6+

I think Monty would be better. He's more consistent and not a walks machine.

@@jogumby Monty is much cheaper but not better. We need another Ace or future Ace like Luzardo. O's should sign Snell and trade for Luzardo.

If I was running a team that was either far enough under the CBT or already at to over it and not in position to really compete the next couple of years, I'd call up Boras and tell him I got Cody type deals for Snell at 95M, Montgomery at 80M, Chapman at 65M, and Martinez at 50M. None get no-trade protection. It's almost 100M against the CBT, but the idea of flipping them all or some should bring back enough to make the risk worth it.

Yeah then Move em and trout at deadline and reboot whole franchise
