Apologies I don’t think anybody on the internet can advise you properly because we don’t know you, your skills, qualifications and expertise or the course you want to study. In my opinion, there are people I would suggest to come into the UK to study even if the PSW is totally scrapped. Their occupations are in high demand and they don’t need PSW visa. A client got a visa sponsorship job after applying for only 4 jobs and she is going to graduate this September. I can’t say the same for every other person. Some people struggle badly because they are not fully educated about how the UK works before coming to study. I always say work on your CV and start applying for jobs before you come into the UK to study so that you can learn fast and land a job fast. All the best!

I want to know I am on psw shall I switch to spouse visa and second thing do I need to declare as a dependent of my British husband or I can show my earning also ? Thanks for the help

Yes of course, you can switch to a spouse visa. There are new rules with respect to this. When they talk about scraping the graduate route, do they consider how their universities will look like if it happens? I mean they are suppose to know that this PSW is what majorly draw people into coming in for post graduate studies in the UK. Who gives advice to these guys if I may ask? Have they really sat down to think on how the country would’ve looked like without the influx of international students and their dependants? I mean the work they are doing and the tax they are remitting.

I am an advocate for universities staying open and relevant. The dwindling numbers are affecting the financial system of universities. Let us wait and see. Thanks for your comment. I hope that the PSW visa is not scrapped.

I don't think any immigration changes will affect those currently on students visa. The country's immigration changes is always forward looking. One of the major reason they want a quick review is to prepare against future admissions. Presently most of the students came in because of the policy on ground. There are lot of them who are on two years programme. Schools will be affected cos most people will feel disoriented and disinterested in paying or committing to study. When the dependant issues came in it addressed future admission. The government is rational and it understand some underlying implications. To me i doubt it it will affect current students in anyway. None of the policy comes in and sweep into action immediately. They are always deliberate and strategic. Don't make it sound as if everything is ending in 24 hours.

You have some valid points. It is always future looking. It wasn’t my intention to make it sound like it would end in 24 hours. Please read the document by Robert Jenrick, he said that he wants it to start before the election. Read James Cleverly’s letter last month, his tone had some urgency on the matter of Graduate visa route. No one knows what is going to be the outcome, when both parties are proposing the same thing with a larking election that pressurises politicians to take drastic actions. Anything can happen. All I am sharing is that everyone should be prepared. We can only assume the best outcome that it will not affect current students. Let’s wait and see. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Cynthia. Can't wait for your video on MAC report with respect to the graduate route... I strongly believe they will not scrap the 2 year post graduate visa. Its either it is reduced to 1 year or they use grade as the yardstick for applying for the visa.

Let them put up 100 points plan we are watching, its not the end of the world honestly. There are other countries. Whats even the point of given visa with unbearable restrictions without knowing till you are tricked in..its so ridiculous

I respect that it is every government’s responsibility to protect their borders and change their policies to protect their citizens and country. However, it will not be nice if the changes in policies affects those already on the route. I mean current students and prospective students who have already got their admission letter, CAS or submitted a visa application. People plan ahead when they choose an immigration pathway. On the other hand, note that this proposal might not see the light of day. Let us wait and see the outcome. All the best!

It is unfortunate you feel that way. As an immigrant that is affected by these policies in one way or the other, I believe that I have the right to voice my opinions and share whatever is being discussed in the corridors of power. I have experienced many proposals that never made it and those that make it. In my opinion that it is very important to never shy away from hard discussions so that many people can make informed decisions. UK laws don’t suddenly spring up on anybody, there are proposals and grapevine made first in which the government tries to get a feel of public opinion on what the likely effect of such things are. I am doing my part by not staying silent about matters like this just because it might lead to sad news. You have a RU-vid channel too.
