Welcome remarks in the form of a Chicana testimonio by Sonja Diaz, founding director of the UCLA Latino Policy and Politics Institute and co-founder of Latina Futures 2050 Lab, and Lucero Chavez Basilio, director of the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs for San Diego County.
"Latina Futures: Transforming the Nation Through Law & Policy" took place at the UCLA Luskin Conference Center on January 20 and 21, 2024. The symposium was designed by a national, multi-generational planning committee and sponsored by the Latina Lawyers Bar Association, UCLA Chicanx Latinx Law Review, and Latina Futures 2050 Lab.
