Phantom Singer is the TV show, an audition programme or a competition, that also gave birth to Forestella. It’s a project forming male crossover quartets. Forestella was the winner of Season 2 in 2017 and this group Libelante is the winner of Season 4 in 2023. As a music lover, this particular show is my absolute favourite. You get to know a lot of amazing singers from different genres and their performances are breathtaking whether they are winners or not. You get to witness how they get to meet their group members through the competition as well as how they grow as artists/musicians. I even have a phantom singer fever over every season myself.

In case you don’t know it, the show, Phantom Singer, is where Forestella was formed. Forestella was the final winner of Phantom Singer 2.

they are Libelante they won the 4th season of Phantom Singer, the show that Forestella also won, they are a crossover group just like Fore. they are an actual group. the people that audition for phantom singer are usually classically trained singers/classical students and musical actors but there have been kpop singers, korean pansori singers and even amateur singers on there too. Hyungho from Forestella for example. but the show is about putting singers with different musical backgrounds and vocal colours/ranges together and seeing how well they blend and harmonise, That is what they are judged on, rather than being judged on if they can sing, because they all can, it's about how well they work together with others to form the perfect quartet. It has created some of the best crossover groups.. others you should check out are Forte Di Quattro who won season 1 and La Poem who won season 3. also Miraclass, Rabidance and Fortena as some groups that didn't win but are still really good.

Actually Phantom Singer audition was designed to make a crossover quartet like il Divo. The 1st season was promoted as "il Divo project". "Beautiful harmony by handsome guys" was the catchphrase. Basically that was what the producer intended. Since 4th season, the winner and runner-up contract with JAM, an entertainment agency under JTBC so Libelante and Forténa will be exposed on air more than previous seasons' groups. (KBS has been showing the Phantom Singers more than JTBC by far)

“Forte de Quarto” won Phantom Singer season 1; Forestella won Phantom Singer season 2; Phantom Singer season 3 was replaced with Phantom singer All stars; Libel ante won Phantom Singer season 4. The singers all audition individually and team up with others if they are not eliminated. As duets, trios and then as quartets . Three quartets compete in the finals . This is one of performances at the finals. Many of the people who audition have some musical background either opera or theatre . There are also a few like Kang Hung ho of Forestella who had no formal training.
